DEMENTOR:
Lucius’s worst memory is seeing his wife being tortured for him messing up. It was one of the reasons his faith in the Dark Lord began to waver. Lucius always thought that when entering the war, the battle’s would be fought by those involved, his upbringing meant he never thought his family would be hurt for his mistakes.
BOGGART:
Lucius’s biggest fear is loosing his family because they are the only things he values above his own life.
AMORTENTIA:
Lucius smells silk and velvet combined the a smell he associates with Narcissa. To others he smells of seas salt and a variety of spices.
OVERALL:
Lucius does not have an attractive personality by any means. His life is ruled by his social status which has helped to form his proud, arrogant attitude. His is cruel and manipulative, as well has being a very good liar. He takes his opportunities when he sees him; however he is happy to wait until the perfect moment to use them. He is very self-centred and vain and his selfish tendencies are one of his most prominent features. His wife and son are the only people who he would put before his own life and he loves them more than anything. He is a very loving partner, though he can be known for his angry bursts. He was raised to never hit or mistreat his wife and expects the same from her. His upbringing also means he is willing to beat his son, but after his own history he views it as a last resort, preferring to psychologically teach Draco his lesson.
He has very strong views on Mudbloods and Blood Traitors. He has been raised to hate them and has tried to instil such beliefs in his son. His hatred however does not mean he wishes them dead; he is intelligent enough to know that they make up a useful part of society. He views them as second rate, as not as important or worthy of magical status. His views are based on the idea of preserving pure wizarding society and its culture, rather than embracing muggle traditions.
He does have a conscience, though it varies from the typically good view on the world. Lucius does not have a problem with killing, as long as he feels it is in some way justified. He views the killing of his enemies and those who oppose him justified, however he does not think that the killing should extend necessarily to that person’s family. He believes in punishment being directed to the wrong doer, rather than being pushed onto someone else. These ideas come from the way his parents brought him up and their view on the world.

MOTHER:
Thalia Malfoy – Lucius loved his mother. She was warm and kind to him, while still being cool enough that she seemed the perfect Slytherin. When alone with family or close friends, she was more open, however outside of the bubble she became icy and strong. He always respected her tough, but loving personality and it was her traits that he looked for in a wife. She was strict with him, but gave him the freedom to grow and learn the lessons of life.
FATHER:
Abraxas Malfoy – Lucius’s relationship with his father was more strained than that with his mother. His father was a lot more stern and cold, even around his child. His love for his son was expressed subtly and he was always guarded and expected his son to be the same. Abraxas was fair, but if Lucius committed a ‘crime’ he was severely beaten in an attempt to knock some sense into him. This can partially explain the harsh, disciplined emotions sometimes expressed by Lucius. Abraxas also had high ambitions for his son and would often refuse to speak to him if his son failed. Failure was not an option for Abraxas and Lucius soon learned to do anything his father said without question and made it his life ambition to make his father proud of him.
SIBLINGS:
Persephone – stillborn sister
OTHERS:
Narcissa – Lucius is incredibly devoted to his wife and has never wavered from her. She is everything he looks for in a life partner and he loves her for her cold, arrogance ice queen personality as well as her warmer, more fiery side. He had great respect for her and would never mistreat her, rather hurting himself than letting anything happen to her. However he is away that she can look after herself.
Draco – Lucius is very proud of his son, though he does find it hard to show it all the time. He cares for his son dearly and knows that he spoils him, but he only wants Draco to have as good a life as possible and tries to make up for his distant emotions by giving Draco everything he wants in life.
OVERALL:
Lucius was born a year after his sister was still born. His survival was a great joy to the family as it was predicted that his mother would be unable to have any more children after him. This always upset Thalia as she would have loved to give Lucius siblings to play with and grow with. His first years were spent mostly being looked after by a nanny and his mother when she wasn’t plagued by illness. He rarely saw his father until the age of six when he was deemed old enough to be initiated into the Malfoy way of life. From this young age he was instructed on the proper way to act and the only way to live his life. From this age onwards his beliefs were installed in his brain by repetition and a sharp slap if he got them wrong.
Despite the occasional violence and stern rules, Abraxas had some rules that seemed to shine through for Lucius. He was told that killing should never be used on those who do not deserve it or those who are incapable of defending themselves for that was cowardice and a disgrace to the good name Malfoy.
When he was 11 he started Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin, much to the delight of his family. He quickly made friends, powerful friends such as Bellatrix Black and the Lestrange brothers. As he advanced through the school he became more involved in the Dark Arts and finally when he finished school, he was initiated into the Death Eater circles. When he joined, Lucius was unaware of the violent, twisted ideas that lingered under the surface. He was sold the idea of a group of people desperate to keep wizarding society free from muggle filth. It was not long later that he took the dark mark.
Less than a year after joining he married Narcissa Black, Bella’s younger sister whom he had been introduced to through her sister and had fallen in love with.
Lucius’s loyalty to the Dark Lord was never challenged by his conscience until they were hunting a member of the Order Of The Phoenix. They found him and killed him quickly, however the other’s insisted on going to his family houses were they brutally tortured and murdered the man’s entire family including his youngest children who were no older than two. The memory still haunts Lucius to this day as it goes against everything he believes and it was the first signal that his family might be in danger. He returned home and had a breakdown, sobbing into his pregnant wife’s arms as he thought of the possibility of their own child’s murder at the hands of the people he supported and fought for.
He was right to be worried as, not long after Draco was born, Lucius refused to torture a young wizard whose father had irritated the Dark Lord. He fully expected to be tortured for his wrongdoing and was prepared to take his punishment. However the Dark Lord forced him to watch as Narcissa was tortured for hours on end. He has never recovered from the incident and the guilt he feels had been pushed to the back of his heart in order to make him as cold and ruthless as possible. The torture did it’s job and Lucius would never defy the Dark Lord for fear of his family being hurt. He has become colder, more dangerous for fear of the Dark Lord returning to power and taking out his anger on the Malfoy family.

Lucius’s grey eyes flashed dangerously as he stared down at the cowering man.
“Let me ask you again. Where is the object I asked for?”
His voice was like a blade against skin and he smirked as the man flicnehd again.
“It was stolen from me sir. That filthy bloodtraitor, the one you told me to avoid…She came up behind me and attacked me, grabbed it out the bag and legged it.”
He stared into the man’s watery eyes, a tight smile crossing his features. Leaning closer he took hold of the man’s jacket and muttered sharply.
“Well. I think you need to get it back, don’t you? I don’t have time to be chasing petty criminals around the whole of Hogsmeade. You however,” He leaned away and looked down in disgust, “You should be perfect for the job.”
The pathetic man gave a hurried nod and scrambled away from the imposing wizard, running as fast as his little legs could carry him in the opposite direction.
Lucius watched him go for a moment, a calculating look marring his handsome features. The man would be back if he knew what was good for him, fear tended to motivate the filthy back ally creatures that seemed to be all over the place at the moment. He might have engaged in illegal activity now and again, he winced at the thought of the mark on his arm, but Lucius had the class and eloquence to pull criminality off. He continued down the high street, avoiding the looks sent to him by the fellow shoppers who had braved the bitter cold weather. Some of them were giving him dirty glares, but he couldn’t care less, filthy blood traitors and mudbloods.
He felt a lot safer with his cane and wand in his hand though, not many were going to challenge Lucius Malfoy to a duel, not ones with half a brain cell anyway.
From behind him he could hear a gaggle of voices and with a quick glance back, he saw they were a group of his wife’s ‘friends’. He scowled darkly at the thought of their inane chatter and sped UP. He was almost at the shop where his wife was shopping, he could get in there, warn her and they could escape through the floo.
Neither of them were in the moods for pointless talking and forced charm.
However the blonde’s luck was not up as a voice shrieked loudly:
“Lucius Malfoy? It is! I would recognise that hair anywhere!”
He turned, a smile stretching is features, a swearword muttered under his breath.
