Keren was born into a family struggling to cope after the first wizarding war, she worked hard to make it this far in life and she expect others to try their very best, and can't help but take a shine to any that do. The family hails from edinburgh, her maternal grandmother immigrated from bavaria to escape the grip of Gellert Grindlewald that was rapidly spreading through europe.

Professor Fischer stalked into the classroom, her cheeks flushing furiously “Morning” She flung her bag towards the desk and started irately searching through piles of parchment, she glanced up at the class suddenly eyes narrowed at their lack of activity “Your class work is on the board complete it” she said shortly, picking up a sharp black quill she began to scribble violently
“Potions is often mistaken by mediocre pupils” she glanced up defyingly at the class and continued “as something even a mere squib could manage” she spat the final words with derision “in potions magical ability is paramount, something which you would do well to remember in this classroom”, standing up she began to pace the classroom “this class will require focus and attention to detail... bravery” she barked a laugh, and sneered at a gryffindor student nearby “is not an attribute in potions class. It is sheer stupidity to attempt any recovery of a ruined potion, if it is wrong start over from the beginning”
Returning to the front Professor Fischer sat down in her seat and smiled at the students “Every year I am disappointed with the standard of students on entering my class, and believe me my expectations are not high. Hardwork”, Professor Fischer smiled approvingly at some petrified hufflepuffs “is necessary, and ambition”, she turned to the slytherin students who were watching her with an awed fascination “is essential if you want to continue this course to NEWT level”
Professor Fischer glanced to the ravenclaw students who were frantically copying down the notes from the blackboard” “Ravenclaw” she roared at the terrified students who didn’t know whether to avert their eyes or not, “Ravenclaw students often struggle to cope in a class which requires more than simple, straightforward bookwork. Brewing potions is unpredictable, however many creative students thrive” She mentioned reassuringly to a devastated ravenclaw, who had began to sob.
Professor Fischer stood up and walked over to the board “ However every student in this room has the potential to succeed in potions… even the gryffindors” she added with a grin as sniggers escaped the mouths of several slytherins; “I hope everyone has learnt a little of what will be expected of them this year, the OWLs are fast approaching and I do not wish to be disappointed this year. Raise your hand when you are finished copying the notes from the board and I will inform you of the homework”
