Dorain James LaVigne // 17 // Beauxbatons // Seventh Year // Pureblood // Bisexual // Ash, Jobberknoll feathers, rigid - good for D.A.D.A.
The LaVigne family is a renowned pureblood family from France. Dorian LaVigne was born to parents Gustave and Vienne on a cold winter day in the month of December on the 4th day. Both Gustave and Vienne were elderly when they had him. He was their miracle baby after trying for years and years. By the time Dorian was born his mother was in her late 90s and his father had just turned 102. While the family isn’t astonishingly wealthy they do live quite comfortably in their small mansion. The LaVigne’s have two house-elves named Vurney and Libby who have served the family for many decades.
When Dorian was a young boy he was taken care of by his parents who were still healthy enough to care for him. For several years he had an average life like many other witches and wizards. He was home schooled and often traveled with his retired parents all over the world. They never ventured into the muggle world, almost always preferring to travel by magical means to wizarding communities and villages. To say Dorian was ignorant about the muggle world would be a huge understatement.
When he turned 8 his mothers health began to fail rapidly. During this time he and his father were not allowed to be in contact with her. Two weeks later she died of the highly contagious Dragon Pox. Afterwards his father explained to him that the disease was highly fatal to elderly victims. It broke both Gustave’s and Dorian’s heart that they couldn’t see Vienne before she passed.
After the loss of his mother Dorian spent more and more time with the house-elves that were ordered to care for him by Gustave. Dorian generally didn’t mind. They could keep him entertained easily, but Dorian being who he was could be a tad reckless. The house-elves would constantly tell him he couldn’t do something. It was too dangerous or it was improper. Gustave, meanwhile had grown depressed after the loss of his wife. Still he made time for his one and only son. They still traveled but it was not hardly as often as it once had been. More often then not they stayed within the mansions boundaries.
On his eleventh his owl to the prestigious school of Beauxbaton arrived. He was more then excited to go to school where he would meet friends his own age. No longer would his father and house-elves be his only source of company.
The palace of Beauxbaton was extraordinarily impressive. It took him weeks to memorize the layout of the school, but soon he was making friends. Growing up as an only child he found getting to know his peers a bit awkward. He had a few close friends, but was in no way popular and well known. His years at the school went by smoothly enough. Dorian was quite the good looking guy and had no problem attracting the attention of girls or guys…apart from the fact that he had no idea what to do with them. He felt so awkward around those he had a crush on. Often finding himself humiliated by something idiotic that he had done. Aside from this little bumps along the way his school life was fairly normal.
During the summer before his seventh year he found out that their would be a Triwizard Tournament held at the famous Hogwarts school. For a few weeks he debated if he should go. His father was by no means a young man in wizarding or muggle terms. He feared if he left his father might get sick like his mother and pass away. In the pit of his stomach he felt like something would go terribly wrong if he went. His father however insisted that he should go. Gustave said it should be an honor for Dorian to represent his school and his family. After must prodding from his father, Dorian felt obligated to go to Hogwarts.
