As a child she watched her father beat a house elf she befriended to death, this affected her in a way that causes her to be cold towards people and have difficulty making friends.
BOGGART:
Letting someone get too close to her, because she fears she will only cause them harm.
AMORTENTIA:
What do you smell?
Nail polish, because she always kept her nails painted.
The smell of the Malfoy Manor, because it reminds her of Draco.
OVERALL:
Katrin is overall a very self-centered and egocentric. She is her own number one priority, for reasons unknown to others. Due to this attitude of hers, she has difficulty making friends and finds little use for them anyway. However, the few friends she does make she is deathly loyal to and will be by their side forever. While around peers she is outwardly cold and rash, at home her family ignores her, brining out a quieter and more sullen persona. Because of her lack of trust in her parents, she has cast that same lack of trust onto those around her, making her analytical and doubting. She is also a very cunning and persuasive being, able to smooth talk her way in or out of any situation. While she is very deceptive, she is scarcely a liar -- preferring to use the technicalities of truth to her advantage than present a gilded lie. Although she is noted as an ice queen with a sharp tongue, she has an even sharper mind. Katrin has natural talent in many of her classes, able to make the grade with little to no effort, however, she does not have this luck in arithmancy. When presented with a challenge, she will face it head on, unless she feels the effort it useless. She has tendency to walk out of classes when she feels the assignment or information taught is inadequate or useless, landing her in detention.

OVERALL:
Katrin was born to Graham and Caitlin Knight. Her parents were high class pure-bloods who cared more about their jobs within the Ministry of Magic than their daughter. Due to her parents lack of interest, Katrin was often left alone in her family's large manor with their many house elves. Still young, Katrin tried to play with the house elves, but her father instructed her to leave the working class to their work and for her to find something else to entertain herself. Katrin disobeyed, as children do, and befriended a house elf named Trinket. After a bad day at the Ministry, Daddy Knight was not happy to catch his child disobeying him and playing with a house elf when he got home. In a fit of rage, her father beat Trinket to death in front of her, and her mother did nothing. From that day on, Katrin resented her parents, and ignored them as they ignored her.
The closest thing she had to a real family as a child was the Malfoy family. After her father caught her disobeying him, he sent her to stay with Lucious and Narcissa Malfoy and their son Draco at random. Katrin was okay with staying at the Malfoy Manor every now and then, because it was then she had something close to a friend.
Katrin was more than happy to receive her letter to Hogwarts, finally able to leave the walls of her family manor. However, she was scared for the house elves that inhabited her home, worried what will happen under her father's reign of terror -- but she moved forward.
Once she got to Hogwarts, she realized that after so many years in confinement, she had developed her parents mindset of "hate anything that is different from you", causing her to put herself on a pedestal only other pure-bloods could measure up to. As much as she resented her parents, they were her only influence as a child, and she had subconsciously developed many of their tendencies.
At Hogwarts, it was also as if Draco and Katrin did not know each other at all. But she remembered him from her childhood as a bit of relief from her vindictive parents, and even as a teenager she felt the same comfort when he was around.

The Great Hall was filled with the hustle and bustle of breakfast. Each student was seated at the appropriate table for their house, some chatting, some eating, some catching up on their studies, and some even catching up on their sleep. However, there was one important presence that was missing, a presence that was likely not missed by many. The Slytherin table was obnoxious and loud as always, wanting everyone in the Great Hall to hear them, but something seemed to be absent amongst them.
Katrin was never one for punctuality, but she was never one for laziness either, so her being asleep at this hour was uncommon. Deep within the Hogwarts dungeons, she was curled up in her bed under layers and layers of blankets where the sunlight could not reach her; the darkness likely being the reason she did not wake up. The blankets squirmed as she began to finally stir, and her silvery-blonde head popped out of her burrow. She yawned wide, her slender arms stretching out at her sides. It seemed she was ignorant to the time, due to her calm composure. Only after her icy blue eyes explored the room and found everyone gone did she realize she had slept in, and likely missed breakfast by this time. With a sleepy nature, she climbed from her bed and shuffled through her trunk for clothes. Today was a Hogsmeade day, so a school uniform was out of the question.
The Great Hall was nearly empty when she had arrived. The entire Ravenclaw table was cleared, and there were only a handful of students from other houses there. A silence fell over the hall so thick the sound of her heels hitting the floor could be heard as she waltzed to her table. Eyes watched her until she sat down, and then returned to their conversation or food. A naïve first year Slytherin allowed her gaze to stay on the Ice Queen for a second too long. "What?" Katrin asked harshly, causing the girl to hesitate for a moment before proceeding. "Um...you do know Hogsmeade will be cold today, right?" The inferior's words were shaky and nervous. Katrin had never spoken to this first year before, but it was clear that she had heard stories of the venomous Katrin Knight. "I'm aware, thank you." Her tone was snarky and sarcastic, causing the other to withdraw from any further conversation.
Katrin never had the most appropriate fashion sense. On a chilly autumn day such as this one, she had chosen to wear skinny jeans with tears and holes down the legs and studs down the seams on the sides. Her shirt had short sleeves and hung from her shoulders, the dark brown cotton making the pureblood's porcelain skin look even paler. Even her choice of shoes was unwise: black ankle boots with chunky heels. She had various necklaces layered over her shirt, and bangles on each wrist. Katrin was the perfect high-class pureblood; choosing fashion over comfort.
Noticing the Great Hall begin to quickly empty, she grabbed a chocolate chip muffin before standing and following her fellow Hogsmeade-bound students.
