Failing. She is afraid of failing despite being in the top of her class.
AMORTENTIA:
Fresh cut grass, new parchment, toothpaste, and Ron Weasley's hair. Unknown reasons for the grass or toothpaste, but Hermione is always doing her homework and finishes before the others and she secretly likes Ron Weasley.
OVERALL:
Hermione is the smartest person in her year. Her intellegence often makes it hard for her to make friends because she sometimes tends to be nosy and snobby. She doesn't mean to, but it hurts her when the other students turn their backs on her. Hermione is extremely organized and is known for having everything in its place as well as finishing her homework before everyone else. Hermione is often miffed when others asks to look at her work because she knows that they would only copy and she wants them to learn on their own.
Hermione hates Malfoy and on her best days she ignores him. On her off days she will punch the snot out of him. Ever since he first called her a Mudblood, Hermione has never cared for the 4th year Slytherin or any Slytherin for that matter. She dislikes Professor Snape a lot and finds herself extremely nervous to be entering his class. One thing she is afraid of is failing its like her worst fear other than death.
When someone mentions her looks Hermione becomes very self-conscious. She feels that she isn't pretty enough to be wanted by any guy and those who ask her are not really interested in her, but her intelligence. Hermione is very cautious when it comes to boys, but she will befriend them if she knows they are truely wanting to be her friends and not pretending to be.

OVERALL:
Hermione was born on September 19, 1979. Her mother is Mrs. Granger and her father is Mr. Granger, or mum and dad. She has grown up an only child and sometimes envies those with siblings like Ronald Weasley or the Patil twins. Hermione went to elementary school like a normal child and made a lot of friends. Her parents were dentists and very health conscientious. Hermione wondered if there was something better out there then the life she was leading, but never thought of Hogwarts.
At the age of eleven, Hermione recieved a letter saying she had been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The girl was very excited and her parents agreed to let her go even though they were a little hesitant about it. They had thought it some cruel joke and didn't want their daughter to be disappointed. The eleven year old girl went into Diagon Alley and gathered everything she needed for her new school.
When she got to Ollivander's for her wand she was amazed at the inside. When Ollivander came to her he took measurements of her arm and then gave her a 8 1/2 Cherrywood, Pheonix feather wand, but it wasn't hers. For several hours Hermione went through the wands in the shop and began to wonder if there was one for her. Then came the 10 3/4 Vinewood, Dragon heartstring wand. Once it was in her hands the air gently blew around her and the wand was warm in her hands. With that Hermione paid for her wand and left the shop.
She waited until that September and her parents took her to the train station where she watched other witches and wizards enter pillar of bricks without a scratch. Hermione said goodbye to her parents and followed the others through. Once on the other side she saw a magnificant train sitting there. Hermione was impressed. The girl found a compartment to sit in and waited for the train to get underway. It finally was and the trip took many, many hours.
To pass the time Hermione went to meet other students. Some looked cruel and vicious so she avoided them. She met many students including several red headed boys that were from the Weasley family... whoever they were, a boy with black hair and green eyes, and other various students both her age and older. Finally, they came to Hogsmeade and the first years gathered around the groundskeeper, Hagrid. The Giant/Human took them across the lake where they were handed off to a very disgruntled looking man that she later knew as Mr. Filch.
They were led through the castle and kept in a room. Hermione began talking very excitedly to the others. Some of them rolled their eyes, some pretended to listen, some ACTUALLY listened, and one even called her a Mudblood. Hermione didn't know what it meant and knew she had to look it up. After what felt like hours a woman entered and led them through the castle and to the Great Hall and down the row of tables to the front. Once there Hermione listened to the instructions of the Sorting.
Many people were called before her and then, finally, it was her turn. With extreme nervousness she walked forward and put the hat on her head. "GRYFFINDOR!" A loud cheer came from a big group of people wearing red and gold. Hermione took the hat off and joined the table. There she watched the rest of the Sorting pass smoothly. Her first test had passed. A few words from the Headmaster, dinner, and then sleep.
The next day they started classes and Hermione found herself very advanced and far ahead of the other students. As the year progressed she became better and better at her classes. The year ended and it was time to go home. Later she found she had passed all of her classes.
In her third year she bought a cat from Diagon Alley named Crookshanks. She had taken pity on the otherwise loner cat. The girl let her cat roam as he pleased no matter what her fellow students thought.
The years passed by pretty much like year one and then came her fourth year of Hogwarts. When she got to school she found out about the Tri-wizard Tournament and was excited to see it played through, but was unprepared for one of the contestants.

Hermione walked through the corridor to class. Hogwarts was her second home now and she felt really at home here. Ahead she heard voices and recognized one of them as Draco Malfoy. The Slytherins stopped her and asked her where she was going.
"Class which where you should be." Hermione responded, miffed.
The Slytherins laughed and told her to go back to the muggle world, little Mudblood. Hermione's eyes flashed and she hissed to Draco, "Want me to tell them about last year?" She raised and eyebrow and Draco blanched. Then the Slytherins moved on and Hermione finished her walk to Charms.
The girl took her seat in the front of the class and listened as they were to do the Water Spell, Aquamenti. Hermione was excited. She was looking foward to getting this spell on the first try just like all the others. She was paired with Harry this time and she smiled tentively to him. By the end of class Hermione was once again the top student for she was the first to have gotten the spell right on the first try.
