Many people didn't understand her enthusiasm for potientally dangerous things. She was sure her brother also thought that she would be far more cautious because of her past. It was the exact opposite actually. Yes she was afraid to get hurt again but she wasn't afraid of creatures. She was afraid of people hurting her. She didn't like large crowds and she was afraid another man or even a female would intentionally take her away and hurt her. As far as the dangerous creatures went she didn't much mind then. She had yet to actually meet up with a creature she was afraid of. Of course at Beauxbatons they didn't have anything nearly as interesting as Hogwarts or what was rumored to have been in the walls since her brothers' first year. She couldn't wait to see what the forest had to offer. She stopped for a moment looked at a creature that seemed out of place in the forest in a sense. She tried to bring up what it was but couldn't figure it out. It had wings and looked kinda like death. She examined it for a minute allowing her brother to catch up with her. She wasn't sure what the creature was but it didn't seem to want to bug her or another.
She looked around her as she waited for her brother to catch up. She hoped that he would know what the creature was. Then she spotted a spider walking along the ground rather quickly and then more. She looked over at a dead log and saw even more. She wasn't too fond of spiders but she wasn't afraid of them. Her mind was taken away from the flying creature as she started to follow the path of the spiders for a little ways. She stopped when she saw bigger ones and ran back to where she had been waiting for her brother. There was no way she was going to follow those bigger ones anywhere. No it would just be a bad idea for her to do that. She didn't want to see where they led really. Out of the corner of her eye she saw something white. Her eyes went wide as she turned to ask her brother a question. "Is the white glowing movement over there a unicorn?" He voice was filled with awe and a tad bit of excitement.

Shendeth kept close behind her as they ran deeper into the forest. They put some distance between themselves and the edge of the forest, so that the grounds were out of sight. Then Saphira stopped. He drew to a halt beside her, following her gaze, only there was nothing there. It looked like she was looking at something though. “What..?” he started to ask, but then something else caught her attention and she looked away. Shendeth looked down too and saw the spiders around their feet. She must have only stopped to listen or look around and decide where to head next.
The latter was answered for them by the spiders crawling along the ground. Maybe she had stopped because she saw them first. Shendeth wasn’t afraid of spiders any more than she was; in fact he kind of liked them more than most people did, so he had no objection to following their trail. It was curious, how they all seemed to be going somewhere. And how there were so many. He wondered where they were going and what made them act like that. It was a little creepy but he would have kept following them if Saphira had not stopped at the sight of bigger ones. So he only stopped when she turned around and ran back to him, following them with just his eyes until they disappeared out of sight among the roots and undergrowth. Huh.
His sister’s voice pulled his attention away from the spiders and he turned to look at her, then in the direction she was looking after her question. A bright white animal was moving slowly along its way in the distance. Shendeth didn’t take Care of Magical Creatures so he had never actually seen a unicorn before. But there were plenty of pictures and descriptions of them in stories, and they were one of the many things that lived in the forest. “Yeah, I think it is.” He replied quietly, watching it as it moved further into their sight. What else could it be?

Saphira looked at her brother when he said what as he almost ran into her. He looked in the same direction she did but it seemed that he wasn't seeing the same creatures she was. She'd have to look the creatures up later though. She had a rather short attention span on things most of the time. If something else caught her eye off she would go with that. It was one of the reason why she really had to watch herself so that she wouldn't get overwhelmed with everything. She wasn't afraid of spiders it was just that the bigger then got the more likely she didn't want to see them get any bigger. The spiders she had stopped at were getting to be way to big for her liking. He finally looked back in her direction again as the unicorn came into clear veiw now. The other creature had run off upon the appearance of the unicorn. "Wow its so pretty" The unicorn bent its head down to eat something and Saphira stood there admiring it inching ever closer to the beast. She didn't like horses to say the least but this type of horse was different.
The unicorn looked up at her and she stopped in her tracks as he turned and galloped away from them. Then she heard something else coming through the trees and rather fast. She latched onto her brother not knowing wha the new sound was but not liking it one bit. The centur stopped right infront of them and looked down at them. Her eyes went wide not in horror really but in mere amazment at the beast before them. He didn't look to happy that they were in the forest without supervision however. He also seemed rather worried about something which had the young girl very curious. "Children should not venture to far into these words. Dark things are coming." Saphira nodded her head but didn't say anything for a long time and she didn't more. Then finally she opened her mouth and whispered to her brother. "Let's get out of here before more of them show up. The centur was watching them as he moved away from the duo. He was waiting for them to leave.

He was silent as they watched the unicorn. However, Shendeth had to agree with his sister as they watched it bend down to eat and then turn away. It was pretty and innocent, but had an air of strength about it as well. But they barely had time to watch it go away before a new sound filled the air, and this time it couldn't have been made by something as harmless as a unicorn or forest spider. It was moving in their direction and fast; there was no time to run.
Shendeth moved closer to his sister, looking around to face whatever it was. But there was no need as the centaur stopped in front of them. The centaurs generally weren't violent. But it didn't look friendly either, and Shendeth understood that they were the ones on its territory. Even he had some awe in his eyes as he looked at the impressive resident of the forest. It took a few seconds but he managed to speak to him when his sister didn't.
"Yeah.. We're.. we're going now." he said, taking a step back. There was nothing else they could do. It probably wouldn't be wise to argue with the centaur, and he looked like he would stay and watch them. They couldn't continue into the forest, but it would let them go. Shendeth was a little disappointed but maybe the centaur was right. Tearing his eyes away from the centaur he nodded at Saphira. "Come on." He put a hand on her shoulder and turned around, leading her back the way they had came. Once or twice he glanced back until the centaur's form faded into shadow, but didn't stop until it was completely out of sight and the trees thinned around them. Beams of sunlight came through the trunks, from the grounds that were coming into view.

Saphira couldn't help but cling to her brother while he told the centaur that they were leaving. She didn't want to be around that creature anytime soon again. Still she was curious about what he was so worried about. It wasn't just their safety or that they were in his territory. There was something else there but Saphira couldn't put her finger on it and she didn't want to stand there trying too at the moment. Her brother put a hand on her shoulder and they headed out of the forest the way that they had come in. It would have been nice to go farther in but not with the centaur watching their every move. That just seemed at bit to scary for the young girl in the first place.
The light came in through the trees as they came back out onto the ground. "I don't want to run into one of them again. But he seemed so worried." She shook her head and glanced over at the carriage that was far enough away from the forest should the centaurs care to do anything drastic before they had been in there though she doubted they would come out of the darkness of the forest for anything unless defending their own people. "Checking out the castle is safer. I don't want to go back in there." She pointed the the carriage. She walked past it waiting for her brother to catch up with her. The castle would be safer to explore and it was what she needed as her nerves were still on edge from the run in with the centaur in the first place.

The centaur looked troubled indeed, but he didn't want his sister to get any more dark thoughts or worries because of it. She clearly had enough to think about already. Neither of them knew what the centaur's worry was about, it might not have anything to do with them. Better to leave foreboding thoughts behind along with the creature and the forest that caused them.
"Best to just forget about it. We won't see one again if we don't go back there." Yes inside the school was safer, and more familiar. "I can show you around the castle too."
Inside the forest he was nearly as lost as she was, but indoors he knew just where to go. He followed Saphira back across the grounds. "We can go anywhere inside." Shendeth would take her pretty much wherever she wanted to see or know how to get to, all she had to do was name their destination.
