Gabriel couldn't sleep. His mind kept wondering to places he didn't want to go to. He turned over in his bunk, and looked at the glasses on his table beside him. With a slight growl he stood up and looked around to make sure nobody was watching him. He slipped into a pair of jeans a button down black shirt, and his black sneakers. He shrugged on a cloak to block out any night chills and slid his glasses onto his face. Glancing around for his sketchbook, he thought that he didn't want to be out without it. He finally found it and tucked it under his arm, stuffing a pencil behind his ear. After sliding his wand into his pocket, he quietly snuck on to the deck of the Durmstrang ship.
He wasn't sure where he was going to go, but he knew he couldn't sneak into the castle. He was already untrusted thanks to the rotten school he had been sent to, that would only make him look suspicious. His eyes scanned the waters of the lake and then the forest that lay beyond. He smiled to himself. He was feeling adventurous and he had heard that the forest was dangerous. It was a good time for him to test his abilities, or just to walk around until he was too tired to stay upright.
Gabriel made his way off of the ship surreptitiously watching his surroundings to ensure that he wasn't being watched or followed. He moved with agile catlike motions, (From years of practice sneaking around Durmstrang) and made it safely to the forest's boundaries. Once in the cover of the woods, he walked deeper before removing his wand from his pocket.
"Lumos." he whispered, lighting the tip of his wand.
The sudden light nearly blinded him so he lowered the wand so that he could watch the ground. It was a beautiful night, and seeing that the forest hadn't reached it's thickest parts yet, he could still see some of the stars above. He looked up at them for a moment, pondering. He shook his head, there he went again thinking of just how he could make a new type of watch.
"You're a wizard Gabriel, not a watchmaker." he scolded himself. He laughed slightly. He didn't want to become a watchmaker when he graduated, he wanted to be an Auror, but he still sometimes found himself tinkering with watches.
Gabriel sat down on a log, and pulled the pencil out of his ear. He had a sudden urge to draw, and when those urges hit, he couldn't ignore them. Closing his eyes Gabriel lowered the pencil to the page and his hand began moving over the paper rapidly. He was in a trance now, and there was no stopping until he was finished, which wouldn't take too long.

Charlie, by definition, was not the kind of girl who went to bed at the right time and went to sleep until her alarm woke her up in the morning. She loved the night air on her skin and running through her hair and she knew better than anyone how easy it was to get out of the castle at night. She had simply darted out of bed and pulled some clothes on before slipping out into the dark corridors of the castle. Filch and his demon feline rarely checked the Ravenclaw area, they never suspected that the good little Ravenclaw's would ever do anything wrong. Of course most of them wouldn't. But Charlie wasn't most people. She slipped out of the window and landed with a slight thud on the grass outside. It was a warm night, with little wind to disrupt the peace. She savored the silence and the beauty of the moment. Before she deemed it dull and took off a cross thee grass at a sprint, heading straight for the forbidden forest. Contrary to popular belief, the Forbidden Forest was not where near as dangerous as assumed. As long as you didn't go to far in, it was absolutely fine. She darted though the dark tress, already knowing her path from thousands of times of being here. To her left she saw a flash of light, like ti was from a wizard's wand. It was unusual to meet people in the forest at night, but it could be a lost student. So Charlie decided to investigate. She knew this could be a bad idea, didn't stop her though, she was too damn reckless sometimes. She found a boy, sitting on a log. She heard his soft words and her grin widened. He looked around her age, but she did not know him, so he must be from a different school. However his voice had sounded American. She shrugged lightly and silently caught hold of a low hanging branch of the tree behind him. She easily heaved her boy up and twisted to sit on a branch about two meters above his head. "We don't get watch-makers around here. So I guess you being a wizard should be obvious."She gave him a sly grin. outfit

Gabriel, had just opened his eyes and was about to look down at his drawing when a voice cut through the nighttime sounds. He jumped immediately to his feet, dropping the sketchbook onto the floor of the forest. The pencil slid down as well and Gabriel clutched his wand in front of him as he turned to find the source of the voice. He had jerked so quickly that his glasses had fallen off and landed somewhere near his feet.
He swore under his breath and searched the area in front of him. After failing to see anything through his blurred vision, he looked down at his feet to find his glasses. When he didn't see them immediately he spun on his feet trying to stay in one spot, then he heard the distinctive crunch of his glasses being stepped on.
He sighed and looked up in frustration, then noticed the figure sitting on the branch. "Hasn't anyone taught you not to sneak up on a wizard?" he asked the person there. "Were you spying on me?" he added wondering how long she had been there to hear him talking to himself.
He bent down picking up his broken glasses, seeing that it was obvious he wasn't going to be attacked. "Repairo." he said pointing his wand at the broken frames before sliding them back onto his face.
His distraction had made him forget about the sketchpad that now lay at his feet and was focused on trying to get a better look at his visitor. From the sound of the voice, it had to be a female. Gabriel didn't really interact with females too much, he figured that they were too intimidating to him. Either that or he just wasn't quite as charismatic as he thought he was. Either way, he was a bit shy when it came to the opposite sex.

She grinned sharply as he spun around. It might be cruel, but it was funny. She twisted her features into a softer smile as his glasses flew from his face. The crunch of them made her wince and she bit her lip, he was a wizard though, he would be fine. "Ummm...Nope. Should they have done? Cause I hate to say it love but you don't look like the most dangerous of wizards." She considered jumping down to grab his glasses for him, after all, it was her fault. However, she mused, she didn't care that much. She snorted, tossing her hair behind her shoulder and rolling her eyes. "Don't flatter yourself. I've never even seen you before, I ain't gonna spy on you."
He was adorable, she decided. Honestly, so naive and sweet. Not the kind of boy she hanged out with. But hey, people always said she should expand her friendship groups. "Sorry. You know, about the glasses. I'm Charlie, you?"

Gabriel looked at her through his newly repaired glasses. There was something a bit off about this girl. Not that he would really know because he rarely hung out with girls.
He shook his head with a slight laugh at the answer to his question of her spying on him. "Well, I find that a lot of people don't trust me, seeing as I'm from Durmstrang." he replied. "Just thought it had to do with that."
He looked away slightly abashed at that as his voice trailed off slightly. When she said she was sorry about the glasses he shrugged it off.
"No sweat." he said showing her his fixed glasses. "One good thing about being a wizard." he added. "I'm Gabriel. Nice to meet you." he added in his slightly altered New York accent.

She laughed at his comment about Durmstrang. "Yeah, well I guess you'd be talking about the Gryffindors there. Most of the Slytherins want to go to Durmstrang, the Hufflepuff don't care and us Ravenclaws ain't got a problem with you. Gryffindor's are idiots, most rave about Slytherin's prejudices, without ever seeing their own. "
She finished her little rant and looked down at him. It probably wasn't polite to talk to someone from up a tree. While Charlie never really cared about politeness, she did get that first impressions were important. So with a slight thud she fell the ground next to him and straightened up. Charlie offered her hand to the boy. Nice to meet you too." She smiled at him, the smile traveling up from her lips to her soft green eyes were it sparkled like a star.

Gabriel shrugged in acknowledgement of her assessment. "Well that makes sense then I suppose."
He watched as she dropped from the tree landing beside him. Pretty gracefully he might add. He saw her hand being held out and he took it shaking it firmly feeling odd shaking a girl's hand.
"So, what exactly are you doing out here in the middle of the night?" he knew that she could ask the same question, but he didn't care he was just being curious.

She basically threw her body to the ground, lounging around on the soft, mossy earth. She licked her lips and thought about why she was out here. There was no real reason, no horrible sob story. She just liked being outside. "I Like the night and I like breaking rules. This seemed to kill two birds with on stone as it were. You?" She looked him up and down. "Seems a bit odd for a guy who isn't from round here to be wandering into a place called the forbidden forest... Where are you from anyway. That ain't no normal Durmstrang accent." Her own east London accent bled through as it normally did. It had long been a point her house had teased her about. Apparently it was too rough and uneducated to mean she could be in Ravenclaw. Straight Os had been a suitable replacement for putting her middle finger up at them.

He shrugged at her answer. "Makes sense to me."
He looked around at the forest for a moment. "I just wanted to see what it was really like in here." he answered before looking back at Charlie.
He listened as she talked about the oddness of him being here and asking him where he was from. "I'm an adventurous sort of guy." he said in response to her first statement. "New York." he answered her.

She nochelently shrugged his reply off and rolled her shoulders back, looking him up and down. He didn't look like your average student sneaking out at night, nor did he look like the most adventurous guy she had never met. Nevertheless she smiled up at him, immediatly liking his calm attitude and friendly words. "Well, as you can see, it ain't that interesting, not if you live by it all the time." She stood up, moving close to him as he spoke again. Her eyebrow raised and she brushed down his robes with a casual smirk. "Get you mister high and mighty. New Yrok eh? Nice there?"
