Fred was bored, and he had no idea what he wanted to do. He figured he would sneak down into the kitchens and find something to eat, but first, he wanted to see if his twin wanted to go with him.
He slid out of the bed and into his shoes before sliding slowly around the room to make sure none of the other 6th years were awake. When he noticed they weren't, he walked over to George's bed and shook him. "George, George." he said trying to rouse his twin. "I'm going to the kitchens, do you want to come?" he asked hoping that his brother had heard him.
He looked around to make sure no one else had and continued to shake George until he made some sign that he was in fact sentient. He began prodding him with his wand when he wouldn't answer and decided he'd head on down to the kitchens.
After leaving the dormitories, he made it to the common room to see that nobody was in there. He smiled to himself as he slid out of the portrait hole and into the secret passage behind one of the bookcases. This one would take him to the 5th floor where he would then take one more that lead him to the ground.
Fred knew that nobody would be wondering around at this time of night if they had any sense, but then again, most of them didn't. He stopped to think that maybe he should've waited for George, then thought better of it. If his twin had heard anything, he would then follow when he was ready, if not, oh well.
He finally made it to the 5th floor without a hitch. Then again, he knew that nobody else knew the same routes that he had taken. He peered around a corner to make sure that nobody was around before sliding out of the hiding place and sneaking off to the next secret passage.

George was sleeping peacefully, dreaming about pranking Snape and turning Mrs. Norris into a rat. In the dream, he and his twin were just about to curse the dreadful cat when the dream Fred started nudging him before speaking. "George, George." The dream Fred said before nudging him again. "I'm going to the kitchens, do you want to come?" George looked skeptical.
“Yeah yeah, after we get Mrs. Norris.” George said aloud. The dream Fred continued prodding him with a wand, and that’s when George stirred. The hand that was shaking him had already disappeared, and he could hear the dormitory door open and shut. Finally, George was awake.
Sitting up, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, George just now registered that Fred had wanted George to follow him to the kitchens. To think of it, George was rather hungry. He got out of his bed, slipped his slippers on, and grabbed his wand, before sneaking out of the boys’ dormitory before heading out of the portrait hole. George then walked to the secret passage behind one of the bookcases. This one would take him to the 5th floor where he would then take one more that lead him to the ground. All the while, George took the passage to the fifth floor, and had spotted Fred about to enter the next passage, but looked around first. Smirking slightly, George walked behind Fred. “Oh dear, we are in trouble!” George said in a perfect imitation of Filch, and waited for his twin to turn around to explain to him why he was out of bed so late.

Fred searched the ground around him looking for any sign of Mrs. Norris before turning to face, George? He prodded his twin with his wand before smirking proudly. "Ha! Nice try, it almost worked, but the voice has to be a bit more, deeper. Face it George, I've matured faster then you." he said with a playful smile before turning to see if there were any teachers or prefects nearby.
He waved George on as he saw that the coast was clear and took off at a sprint towards his next destination. He paused flattening himself against a wall to peer around the next corner. He lifted a finger to his lips to signal to his brother that there was someone there.
He figured that it had to be Filch, and sure enough, there came the feline shortly behind the figure. He turned toward George and suggested to him that they find a place to hide, and fast.

George doubled over laughing as Fred whirled around, apparently looking for Mrs. Norris. "Ha! Nice try, it almost worked, but the voice has to be a bit more, deeper. Face it George, I've matured faster than you.” George pouted at that comment, but couldn’t help but agreed.
“Yes, luckily, we’re still able to fool people.” He added as he followed Fred to their next destination.
George watched as Fred waved him on as he saw that the coast was clear and took off at a sprint towards his next destination Fred paused flattening himself against a wall to peer around the next corner, George hot on his heels. He watched as Fred lifted a finger to his lips to signal to his brother that there was someone there.
Fred most likely thought it to be Mrs. Filch, and George thought that he was right. He nodded when his twin told him they needed to hide, and looked around, spotting an empty classroom. He nudged his head toward it, trying to tell Fred without words that they should hide in there.

Fred nodded in agreement and pushed himself off of the wall. He ran as quietly as he could towards the door his brother had indicated. When he got there he pushed the door open as quietly as he could. A slight creek arose but not loud enough to attract unwanted attention, so Fred hoped.
He squeezed into the classroom, not wanting to have to open the door too much further then it was, not if it was going to make noise. He ushered his brother in the room and looked around for a place to hide, just in case. "Is he coming?" he whispered to his brother.

George and Fred ran across the hall as quietly as they could, before standing outside the door. When Fred went to open the door, George winced at the squeak, but hopefully Filch nor Mrs. Norris had heard it. George was ushered into the room by Fred, which was almost impossible seeing as they did not want to open the door, because of the damned squeaking it was making.
George couldn’t help but be amused at his twin’s antics in finding a place to hide. "Is he coming?" he heard from behind him as he peeked out the door.
“Hold on Greddie…….all I see is Mrs. Norris, and crap, she’s looking my way” George said, closing the door and pushing himself against the wall.

Fred heard George say that Mrs. Norris was looking his way and swore. "In this old wardrobe." he suggested before sliding into it himself and poking his head out.
"On second thought, You may not fit." he added looking his twin up and down suggesting that he was bigger then himself.
He pulled the door shut before his twin could even respond suppressing a laugh by covering his mouth with his hand. He strained his ears trying to listen for any other sign of Mrs. Norris or Filch the Squib.

George turned to his other half as he was speaking. "In this old wardrobe."Fred suggested as he slid into the old wardrobe himself. He started heading that way, but heard his twin speaking again. "On second thought, You may not fit." Fred had looked him up and down, before sticking his head back inside and closed the wardrobe.
George was positively fuming now. He decided to take that as a compliment and swore to get revenge on Fred later, but right now, he had to hide. He looked around the room, and decided to hide under the teacher’s desk, which luckily for George, was like those old teacher’s desk that didn’t show underneath from the students’ view. Just then, he heard the door opening.

Fred held his breath as he heard the door open. God, he hoped that George had found a hiding place in time. Judging by the silence he had. He listened intently as Filch searched the room talking to Mrs. Norris. After a few moments he left the room and Fred waited a few minutes before poking his head out of the closet. He looked over at the teacher's desk finding it the easiest to hide under. He started laughing in relief. "You should have seen your face when I told you, you wouldn't fit." He laughed.
