Amaranta was rather happy with herself and she hoped on the train at the hogsmeade station. It was Friday and right after school. She and Draco had been asked to come home and she had drug him to the train of course. Still Amaranta was happy. She had reclaimed her spot at the top of her Charms class and was not just ever so father ahead of the filthy little Granger. One of these days she's pull out that girl's unruly hair. She shook her head and skipped merrily down' the corridor to a compartment. She was probably far to happy at the moment but hey that was Amy for you.
She sat down in the compartment humming happily to herself. She hadn't exactly told her brother why she was so happy either. The train ride lasted well not so long. A house elf was there to pick them up and she growled at it as it ushered them home. Oh how annoying those creatures could be. Finally home she walked in with no care in the world. However she did not call out so that her parents knew she was there yet. What was the fun in that she liked sneaking up on her father and that was exactly what she was going to do. He wasn't happy, and his twin was doing nothing to correct the situation. If he hadn't been quick enough to grabbed his newest copy of Wizard Robes magazine he was sure he would have stuffed the girls face with chocolates by now just to get that annoying smile off her face; it was annoying for Draco and that's all that matters. Having spent the train ride sulking behind said magazine Draco felt that his sister wasn't taking his silent treatment seriously enough, she was humming for crying out loud!
Glaring at anyone stupid enough the make eye contact with him on the way home Draco made sure to slip his magazine into the robe pocket before his father saw it, for some reason the man liked to take them and hid them in his study...Draco know for a fact that he didn't throw them away since he had found a few in the newspaper stand on one of his few visits to his fathers study.
Walking slowly behind his twin Draco didn't bother to damped the sound of his shoes hitting the stone floor as he walked; he would usually play along with his sisters game but today he didn't plan to make this trip a happy one. he had made plans to meet up with Nellie that night an down it was all for nothing seeing as he was stuck here because his evil sister wouldn't listen to reason when it came to requests of their parents.

Lucius was aware of his children's arrival. Something he was sure would irritate them, but he had felt the magic of the house shift as the gates were opened and had almost heard his children's magic echoing around the manor as they arrived home. For a second something close to a smile flickered across the man's face, before it disappeared under a cool mask once more. He left the library and moved the the central staircase, seeing them as they stood in the entrance to the grand house. Amaranta looked almost gleeful, an expression he was not sure was suitable for a girl visiting home, but it was a lot better than her brother's surly expression. He descended quickly, eyes unreadable. "Amaranta, I am glad you could come home, your mother has missed you dearly." He gave his only daughter what could be described as a smile, though it was cool and shallow. His eyes however flashed as he turned to greet his son. "Draco! Wipe that look off of your face before your mother sees, you could at least pretend you care, for her sake!" He snapped sharply at his son, drawing himself, up, his fingers going to his wand as he resisted the urge to hit the boy, or something worse as his own father would have done.

Amaranta was not happy about going home either. She was just being the dutiful daughter. Actually she's just rather not have father mad at her through a letter. She wanted to have it so that he could see how annoyed the both of them were for being called home. Still she couldn't help but smile because she was over joyed about being back at the top of her class. She had listened to reason but well she just had to do this and Draco would have to get over it. She knew he also wasn't damping his sounds and she was sure their father was there once they got there. After all it had been dad who put the charms up around the house in the first place. She hated when her brother was sulky. She took a deep breath with less of an extreme happy smile on her face now.
Anyone knew that an overly happy Amaranta meant that something was not alright. For all intensive purposes Amaranta knew her brother had a date for tonight and so did she. They had to skip them because well they had been called home. She was going to scold her father for that in the first place. Of course this would have been her first dates as she'd gotten close enough to a boy to go on a date. How she had kept it from her twin brother was beyond her. He was probably too worried about his own date to pay attention to the fact that his beloves sister was being hit on by a Drumstrang sixth year. She quickly shook off her thoughts as her father came down the steps. Yup keeping that smile on saved her from the scolding that her brother got from their father.
"Daddy, I wouldn't think about it if I were you." She knew by his body language that her father was thinking of things he shouldn't be and she didn't mind if she got scoled fro it. "Yes I know Mum misses up but we aren't exactly the happiest campers right now Daddy. You pulled us away form our social obligations and how do you think that makes us look." She gave a half glare to her father. She was sure Draco would have more to say then she would so she stayed the way she was and silent. [/center][/blockquote]

The arrival of their father did nothing to better Draco's mood; not even the mans not so subtle search of his wand got a rise out of him, though he was happy to notice that his sister was quick to jump to his defense, which made him smile a bit. But then the thought of his missed day with Nellie slipped back to the front of his mind and with it his dark mood.
With a roll of his eyes Draco slipped passed his father and headed toward the family sitting room, he hated having conversations in the main hall, they had comfortable seats and a warm fire in almost very room but that one and he didn't see why if he had to suffer being there that he also had to be chilled and standing. "Mother knows how I feel about this" That was a lie, not even Amy knew how he felt about this farce of a pregnancy; if he was honest with himself not even Draco knew how Draco felt about this particular topic.
What he didn't know though was that it was now costing him a date with a girl it had taken him 2 years to ask out.
Comment: I apologize for the suckness (word!) of this post

At his daughter's words, Lucius felt an anger rise inside him that he had not felt around his children in a long time. He snarled at the girl, moving toward her in two short steps and raising his hand, drawing his arm back as though to slap her. He was about to as well, his body coiled, ready to strike, when for a second he saw himself reflected in her, just like the thousands of time his father had beaten him till he was almost unconscious. He took a step back, the violence fading from his eyes but the anger remaining as he spoke, voice almost at a shout. "It makes you look like you actually give a damn about this family! I don't care if you are heartless brats, but pretend you care about your mother!" He turned and pushed passed his son and into one of the many sitting rooms and moved to stand by the fire as he glared at his children. This time when he spoke his voice was low and as cold as ice. "Severus always told me I spoiled you, so many people did. But I thought you were better than this, I thought I brought you up to respect your family, I didn't realize my children were such brats. I don't care about your social obligations, but since you seem so preoccupied with them you can go and have your fun." He turned away from them, picking up a small glass dog from the mantel piece and flicked his wand at it. "this is a portkey. It will take you to Hogwarts. I will tell your mother you had other engagements to attend." He turned, not even giving them a fleeting look as he walked out of the room, his last words to them being: "You have disappointed me and hurt your mother. I hope you are proud of yourself."

Amaranta stood there with her glare changing from a light glare to a deathly one. Her father was on her in a matter of seconds after speaking. He brother was moving to the sitting room and she knew full well things would not be good. Her father raised his hand and retracted back as if to strike her. He didn't hit her but she knew all to well that he would. He just wasn't angry enough to do so and that pissed her off ever more. "I do care about my mother Lucius. I'm not a heartless brat. But I already sent word to mother about how excited I was for tonight and then YOU called us home. IF it had been MOTHER I might not have been so upset. Also had it not been for getting back to the top of my class I would look like my beloved brother." Her voice had none of its normal softness in it. No the tone of her voice would have many people wishing they were dead. Her voice was cold, cruel, and deadly. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that Amaranta was angry.
"Hit me I dear. I dear you to be like your father. I know that's why you don't at times. But I dare you. I can't stand the damned mixed signals you give us. Do IT! She of course now was screaming after him as he went into the sitting room. She followed suit and sat down on the bench for the baby grand piano that they had in that particular room. Her mother's piano was in the othe room. Her father was not going on with this whole they were spoiled brats thing. Sure she wouldn't deny that they were spoiled but that didn't matter to her. What she really wanted was for her father to say that he loved them. For him to show it a little better then he did. For the affection of her father that was what she wanted. Sure she could wrap him around her finger to get anything that she wanted but that really wasn't truly what she wanted. She wanted his love something he didn't give.
"As I have said...I do care about this family. But running on social obligations does not seem right. I explained at least to the person that I held them with that I had to go home and he seemed disappointed but was alright." Her voice was quiet but it held the deathly undertones and was still not its normal softness, Her father was making a portkey and she was sure her brother might take it and go back but she wouldn't. She'd be the dutiful daughter and stay and wait for her mother to send her back. She was doing it to just piss off her father. She turned to the piano. "DON'T Just leave like that father!" She screamed it at him as he started to walk from the room. His last words to them pissing her off even more. She started to play the piano. A song that she had written awhile back. However the fact that she was playing the piano showed how upset she was. She hated playing the piano and yet here she was doing it. The light began to flicker through the house and she tried her hardest not to break any of the glass in the house. But as her father continued his walk out the chandler that was in the entrance hall shattered as did the mirror outside the sitting room. Any glass close to where her father was started to shatter.
