BOGGART:
Laura’s dead body, Sally failing to protect her
AMORTENTIA:
The smell of snow. She's gotten into many arguement with her sister about whether or not snow has a smell, but Sally swears that she can smell it and is always willing to prove it. Everytime she says she's smelt snow, sure enough it would snowed within an hour. Sally has always loved snow.
OVERALL:
Quirky if not outright strange at times, Sally is an odd mix of optimism, sarcasm, and wit rolled into a tiny blonde package. At a young age Sally was confronted by the fact that there is darkness in the world; that bad and villainous people are not confined to the world of stories but exist in our own, are usually far worse in person, and are not always brought to justice. However, Sally has also seen that there are tremendously good people in the world too, and with that comes hope. Still, this knowledge has had a tremendous effect on her life and has made her very protective of loved ones, especially her little sister Laura. As well as protectiveness, her past made Sally into a survivalist, teaching her how to endure and sparking her passion for running and her interest in self-defense.

OVERALL:
Sally’s mother, Antonia, an inept witch, moved to America when she was 18. A short year after that she found herself married to a muggle named Henry Grey and with child, Sally. Laura, Sally’s little sister, was born two years later, and for a while the family was happy. But then Antonia became absent and secretive, leaving without explaining where she was going or how long she’d be gone. An affair was obvious. Henry, exhausted by his wife’s philandering ways, left.
Sally hated the next two years of her life, and is grateful her little sister doesn’t remember much of it. Antonia seemed to be attracted to only the dregs of society, bringing home vile and predatory men, as pathetic as they were frightening, that would take advantage of Antonia’s wilful blindness and Sally’s vulnerability. It was from one of the worst days of her life that brought Sally liberation from life with her mother: the day her little sister nearly died. She can still remember how helpless she felt, trying to grab Laura’s flailing hand that was just out of reach.
After that Sally and Laura were sent to live with their aunts in England. Both widows, the aunts lived together in a large Victorian manor, in a small town with only two other wizarding families, neither of whom had children. The house had been built in 1850 and owned by the family since then. Significantly older then Antonia, age 27, the aunts were in their late 40’s and could both pass for 30. Charmingly eccentric women, the aunts had quirks, such as aunt Franny singing cabaret music until dawn if she was awake past midnight and aunt Renny making brownies for breakfast. Unlike Sally’s mother, the aunts had scores of spell books in there house and never failed to answer any and all heritage and abilities.
Gradually learning to deal with her demons, Sally grew from an angry and frightened child to a strangely optimistic and out-going young woman. Throughout all her struggles Sally’s aunts and sister have always been there for her with the support and care she needed. Now in her fifth year at Hogwarts, Sally’s excited to watch the Tri Wizard Tournament and far less excited to be studying of her O.W.L.’s.

Sally sat on her suitcase, fighting with the latch to close. The latch was winning. Blonde hair tangled and frizzy from a night of tossing and turning against a pillow, wearing the shorts and shirt she’d slept in, Sally decided that it was far too early for her to be battling with her uncooperative luggage. But her aunts were taking her to Kings Cross Station in a matter of hours and she’d yet to finish her packing, forcing the point moot. Bouncing up and down and profusely glad no one was there to watch, Sally managed to snap the latch into place, trapping her heap of clothing inside. Leaping up, crying, “Ha!” Sally grinned triumphantly at her defeated foe.
On her stereo Back In Black by ACDC started and Sally swayed along to the rhythm as she packed the rest of her belonging into her trunk. Her textbooks and other supplies for school first, then her shoes, a framed picture featuring her aunts Franny and Renny waving and smiling in front of their house, a tiny cactus she had brought with her from America when she was eight and had miraculously managed to keep alive, a couple books Laura had pushed into her hands and swore she ‘just had to read’. Sally smiled and wondered why she’d been so sure packing would have taken a long time. After four years of years of vigorous training, she thought, as though narrating her autobiography, Sally had finally mastered the art of last minute packing.
The song switched to Transylvania Terror Train by Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures and Sally gave herself up to the music, twirling and moving her hips in an uncoordinated way that proved she’d never taken a dance class in her life. She sighed inwardly, knowing she’d have to leave her stereo behind, but it would be worth it to be back at Hogwarts. She hated not being allowed to use magic off school grounds. Deciding to enjoy her tunes while she had them, Sally threw her arms up in the air and spun around, only discovering she was no longer alone.
Laura stood by the door. Of course her younger sister had to be standing there fully dressed and with combed hair while Sally was dishevelled and moving around like a lunatic.
“What’re you doing?” Laura asked, looking at her as if she’d decided Sally’s warped mind had finally snapped.
“Parasailing,” Sally answered, and continued dancing.
