Dominic Reisender

Vladlena Shevelova (Bellz)
So we can put into record. What is your name again?
Fair enough, but I'd like to state I see this whole interview process as largely unnecessary.
Dominic Reisender. Yes, I have a middle name; no, I don't see much point in divulging it. You put another person named Dominic Reisender in front of me, and I'll tell you then.
Do you have any aliases or nicknames?
"That one guy", mostly. I tend to blend into the crowd, but because I don't tend to participate in large social gatherings, people still sometimes recognize me as...well, "that one guy". The mean-spirited students of Hogwarts sometimes refer to me as "the White Knight" in jest, because I often times stick up for someone who's getting bullied, but that nickname is incredibly stupid and only slightly correct in context.
How old are you my dear?
14. I've been told I don't really look it, and I consider that to be a blessing, since most adults often spare no respect for 'children'.
What type of wand do you carry for protection in these times?
A good one. ...you mean the specifics? Rosewood, 10 1/4 inches, thestral hair. Unyielding little thing. Does alright with charms, but really excels at hexes and counter-curses. Good enough answer?
What school do you hail from and what year are you in? If you are an adult what was your school and what now is your occupations.
I'm a 4th year at Hogwarts.
If you hail from Hogwarts what house are you in? If you do not what is your impression of Hogwarts?
Gryffindor, weird as that seems to me. I don't see myself as 'brave' or 'courageous', more 'honest' and 'stubborn'. I kind of thought I was going to be placed in Ravenclaw myself, due to the way I take to studies, but who am I to argue with a talking hat? Hufflepuffs seem down to earth on average, and Slytherin has a certain stigma attached to it, but being in one of the other houses wouldn't change anything. Doesn't make much difference to me what house I'm in.
What is your take on the announcement of the Triwizard Tournament? Those of you from Durmstrang of Beauxbatons...Why did you come here and why were you allowed to come?
I'm interested. Looking forward to mingling with the students from the other schools, and the inevitable culture clash...loathe the great big wave of gossip accompanying the announcement. Not everybody wants to know who you, in particular, think should be Hogwart's champion.
How would you describe yourself?
At my worst, a stubborn, loud-mouthed jerk. At my best, an easy-going guy who prefers to think before he talks. Mainly I'm someone who likes to spend most of his time outside of the spotlight. I'm likely to be an enemy of anyone who makes themselves out to be a bully, though.
What do you like in this world?
I like fictional stories; some fantasy, some sci-fi. Comic books fit in there somewhere...action movies, popcorn flicks, whatever you want to call them; Sylvester Stallone is pretty much my idol. Uh...being outside in the rain, coffee - none of that decaffeinated stuff...music, music's a pretty big part of me. Defense Against the Dark Arts. Does this answer have a required length or something? You can stop me anytime, you know.
What do you dislike about this world?
Front and center, I hate bullies. You deal with life however you can, but you shouldn't take your troubles out on others. And if you don't have a reason for it, then I don't have any respect or sympathy for you. Other than that, I hate being put on the spot, getting pushed around, having someone tell me what to do...I'm my own person, right? If I can't come to an agreement with someone, they're not going to get my compliance through force. Easy enough to understand?
What's your worst memory? What would the Dementors make you think about?
Getting beaten by the neighborhood kids back in the states, before me and my parents moved here. Those kids used to dog-pile on me all day, every day, up until I started hitting back. Until I showed them they couldn't get away with it anymore.
What is your fondest memory?
That...that would be about two years ago. Around the time of my birthday, me and my parents went back home to the states to visit some friends of the family. While we were over there, though, they gave me an early birthday surprise - we went to Broadway, and I saw my first musical. I can't remember the name, it wasn't one of the more popular shows when we went, but I remember the fantastic musical score (by Stephen Sondheim, really the best in the business). I've always loved music, but that moment right there was when I'd decided I wanted my career to be in music.
What would you boggart be and how would you change it?
I've never learned how to swim. Haven't had a lot of nightmares growing up, but a recurring one is being out on the water in a boat, and going overboard somehow, and just...sinking down into the depths, so deep that the light can't reach me, and watching my life float away towards the surface. So I suppose it'd be a tidal wave coming at me? Couple of deep-see creatures in there? I'm not sure about how boggarts deal with absurdities like that. Assuming something like that, though, I guess I'd turn it into an aquarium tank with some of those goofy bug-eyed goldfish in it.
What's your hearts desire?
Other than having a happy, healthy family someday, I want to make a living in music. Preferably in a band.
Got any secrets you wish to tell?
...what I say here doesn't leave this room, you hear? Understand? ...I, on occasion, like to write things. I call 'em songs, but they're really cheesy and nothing to brag about. I like to sing too, but I'm kind of uncomfortable doing it around other people. You know how the saying goes, "you're your own worst critic".
What turns you on in a significant other?
Wow, that's a pretty personal question, isn't it? Self-confidence mainly, knowing where they want to go in life. Not apologizing to everyone for every little perceived offense. Opposites can attract, though, so what I like doesn't mean everything.
What turns you off in a significant other?
Hey, listening to me go on, you could probably list those yourself. Bullies, manipulators, people who see fit to do underhanded things to get ahead. The usual.
What smells intoxicate you and what do you think you smell like to others?
I can give an answer to both parts with one word: coffee. I drink so much of it, some people say I've got a constant haze of it around me. As for other smells I like...I don't know how to describe it, but that smell after a fresh rain? Also blueberries and chocolate. I'm not too crazy for the taste of chocolate, but I can't help but love the smell of it.
Last but not least do you like the girls or the boys or both?
Should this really be an either-or question? It feels like that "both" was tacked on as an aside, there. I suppose if I had to look at the ratio of past relationships, it'd be skewed towards the female gender, but saying "I like girls" is restricting. I don't like someone just because of their gender, and if I did develop feelings for someone, their gender wouldn't really matter to me.
Who is your Father and what is your relationship with him?
Tai Reisender. Good man, very supportive, has high hopes for me. He finds work as a freelance journalist.
Who is your Mother and what is your relationship with her?
Alexandria Reisender. I'm her only son, so she babies me quite a bit, but we get along fine regardless of that. She's a member of a well-known law firm, but the name escapes me at the moment...
Do you have any siblings and if so who are they and how do you feel about them?
Only child. Haven't really given any thought to whether or not I wanted any siblings, but I guess it would have been nice.
Are there any other people important to you life?
So far, not really.
Do you have any special abilities?
I have the uncanny ability of knowing when someone's messing with me, does that count? I can also whistle pretty good, if you want a demonstration of that.
What is your history?
Not a whole lot to talk about, haven't been around for too many years and not a lot's happened to me. I grew up in the states, in one of the big cities, and it wasn't very fun. Kids picked on me for whatever reason, and it took a while before I wised up and starting fighting back. It didn't do any real good, though, So eventually we moved here, where we had some relatives. My life didn't start to get interesting until my 11th birthday, when I got the letter from Hogwarts. From what I can tell, people like me - muggleborns - they have some inkling that they're different, or their families knew they were special. Wasn't that way with me; sure my mom thought I was special, but that's just the way she is. There weren't any weird happenings when I was younger, partly because I was good at bottling up emotions, I guess. Wasn't long after that that I got sorted into my house - you already know my feelings about that - and started my education at Hogwarts. Other than that, nothing much; I've got a few acquaintances here and there, but I've mostly kept to myself. It's just a lot easier that way.
Now wasn't that fun? I believe introductions are in order don't you think? So you all know my alias is PTAV. I've been on this earth for 21 years. I found this little site by finally getting my connection back and checking my email!. You may know me as nobody else just yet I've been at this game for about 8 years, give or take a year. I hope to meet you all real soon on the inside.
