It was a warm summer morning; golden sunshine angled down into the garden at the back of the house. Shendeth was lying sprawled on his back in the grass, staring up into the sky. The garden was the best part of their new house. It was so peaceful and quiet, so easy to think and to let go of bad thoughts in the fresh smells of earth and plants.
Yet there were a few things going through his head. Was this some kind of false dream? There was nothing to do here, nowhere to go beyond the garden fence. It was a pretty nice place for a place that one is stuck in, but he was still stuck there. He was bored. Did he even belong here? At least school would start again soon, for better or for worse. Then this day would be forgotten.
With only this sort of thoughts for company Shendeth lay there, not moving or doing anything else, for an indefinite time. Closing his eyes he felt the sun on his pale face and the long, still slightly cool grass around him.
If only life were always as beautiful as this picture scene.

It had been a busy summer for the small family. Many adjustments were still being had. Packing had finally conclude and the home was finally arranged properly. Still within a weeks time they would be leaving their new home to return to Hogwarts. A place that she had always considered her second home. This year would be different. She would be returning to her alma mater as a substitute professor. She was enthused and apprehensive at the same time, but this was something she needed to do. She needed to make a separation between her old life and her new one.
Lily took the boiling kettle off the stove and poured herself a cup a tea before heading out to the backyard. She sat down on the stone bench a mere few feet from where her son was sprawled out on the grass. “Enjoying yourself Shendeth? It’s quite peaceful out here.” She smiled and took a sip of her tea.

Eventually the sound of a door opening and closing reached his ears, and soft footsteps moved slowly across the yard toward him. Shendeth looked up to see his mother sitting down on the garden bench behind him with her tea. That was good, at least it wasn't Harry. His twin was annoying sometimes. Sometimes as in all the time. Oh well.
As she spoke he sat up, absentmindedly brushing a bit of grass off his shirt. He looked once more out over the familiar garden and then back at her. "Yes.. it is." Shendeth said idly in agreement.

Lily muffled a sigh. Sipping her tea as she looked out over the gardens. Apart of her was dreading leaving her new place of refuge. But the idea of going back to Hogwarts was grand. She would finally be able to surround herself with intelligent adults. James and his little clan of friends barely surpassed as good company. Remus was the only one she could have an intellectual conversation with.
Lily set her cup of tea beside her on the stone bench; crossing her legs. She looked fondly down at her son, giving him a small smile. He was so much like Sev. In more ways then she could even imagine. "School soon." She said, brushing a lock of red hair from her face. "We should make a trip to Diagon Alley soon. Unless of course you would rather go with Harry and your father. Or you could go with some school friends if you prefer."

A trip to Diagon Alley.. yes, they hadn't done that yet and would have to soon. He nodded.
If given the choice he certainly did not want to go with Harry and his father. Yes they didn't get into a lot of fights but he and Harry weren't exactly close. They tried not to be always at each others throats, at least not at home, but instead Shendeth tried to keep a distance. At school he sometimes pretended they weren't related to people who didn't know they were. Their father was just like Harry. They were two of a kind; good for them. But James Potter had never been a very good father, at least not to Shendeth.
On the other hand, he cared about his mother a lot. Moments like this were nice when he got to spend time with her. But she was still his mother and he was still a teenager; of course he'd want to go with his friends, or even alone if he could might be fun. With all the family stuff and moving going on he hadn't seen Theo and Blaise much all summer.
Although, there being a loner in him and them it wasn't bad at all to take a break after an entire school year in each others constant company. There was quite a possibility that they had already gone, and in any case he'd see them when school started in a couple of days. So either way was fine, it didn't really matter anyway. "Well.. no I don't want to go with Harry."

Lily let the silence fall over her. The gentle rustling of the trees and shrubs soothed her. While it would be great to be back at Hogwarts, she would miss the quiet serenity that her new home had brought. It had been Shendeth and herself for quite sometime. Harry had chose to spend most of his summer holiday with his father. Things between the two of them had been rocky as of late. Liy assumed that it was because of the recent divorce. But if she were to admit it to herself Harry and herself never had a strong relationship. Harry had always been James' little shadow.
Her relationship with Shendeth had generally be good. There were somethings that they had shared. But Saphira was had been the one that she was closest too. But Lily didn't know if she would ever see her daughter again. It had been roughly 4 years since she last saw her. She wasn't even sure if she was still alive.
Her heart skipped a beat at the thought. Lily couldn't even imagine the thought of one of her kids dying. But so much was unknown about Saphira. Lily could only hope that she was happy and well where ever she was.
She was brought back to the presents by her sons voice. "I assumed that you wouldn't want too. Thought I should ask anyways." She said giving him a sad smile. "Well whatever you decide don't leave it to last minute. We'll be leaving soon and I don't want to wait until the day before we leave to get your things."
