OVERALL:
Mikah has many of the attributes of your typical Hufflepuff, although any of the four houses might fit. A bit protective of his sister, he is generally honest, fair, and loyal, and doesn't like people who are not. He is patient and will work hard when he wants to, but is also the laid-back, non-aggressive type. Although he doesn't start fights he will rise to any challenge. Most of the time he is quite the dreamer, but that is to be expected. Although apparently more sensible than the rest of his family he does believe them for the most part, but fitting in is important to him.
He is willing to be friends with anyone as long as they are lighthearted and can take a joke. Mikah knows when to be serious but prefers not to be. What is life if you don't enjoy it to the fullest? Sometimes he can be indecisive and gullible, but is also stubborn. He won't let others influence him. He has a great many dreams and ambitions for life, but as long as things turn out well it doesn't matter if they are all fulfilled. Just dreaming is half the fun.

FATHER:
Xenophilius Lovegood, editor of the Quibbler
SIBLINGS:
Luna Lovegood, 13, sister
OTHERS:

OVERALL:
Mikah was born four years earlier than his sister Luna. Their eccentricities worked well for the family, and he grew up in their house in the country believing in such things as Crumple-Horned Snorcacks and Nargles. He entered Hogwarts at the age of eleven like any wizard child, and although he was intelligent was sorted into Hufflepuff, unlike his sister. Mikah had the sense enough to learn not to talk about the things that made the Lovegoods different, and as such was able to make friends and try to fit in. The next few years were pretty average.
It was in his third year at Hogwarts that he got the news that his mother had died. It was a tragic event, but eventually they were able to move on. In his fifth year the Chamber of Secrets was opened, but that didn't have much affect on Mikah. He's starting his seventh year now, and the Triwizard Tournament is open to those in his year but he isn't sure if he would want to be in it. He's also not yet sure what he wants to do with his life after he graduates, but hopes it will be something fun and worthwhile.

It so happened that Shendeth was just as curious about Snape as was the opposite. He supposed he couldn't expect him to have noticed those things before, if he hadn't been looking for them.
Nobody else with the last name Snape was known to him, so he knew nothing about the man's past or who he was or their relations. Though it made sense that he had been at school with James and they had been rivals. And apparently he might understand how Shendeth felt about James, even if his quality of relationship with his father had been on a completely different level.
It probably was just their personalities that made things the way they were. For a few seconds Shendeth was silent as he thought the question over, upon which he decided that being a good man and a good father could be two different things. Maybe James just wasn't cut out for being a parent. He'd never been able to be called abusive, only resorting to hitting when he was really angry.
Shendeth had been told by him how he'd fought for good and the Order of the Phoenix, against You-Know-Who before he'd been defeated, and that was something Shendeth knew he himself would never have done. No, he knew there were far crueler people in the world. But the relationship between them had never been right. It was part of the reason why Shendeth didn't like being called by James's last name. He wasn't sorry that they didn't share blood.
Looking back up at the professor he answered the questions honestly, knowing what his answer could mean.
"I don't think he's a bad man.. but no, we've never been close."
