The idea that a resident of Hogsmeade might prefer to stay inside on a Hogwarts visit day was certainly understandable; it must be annoying to have one's home flooded with loud kids. Fortunately for them the day was drawing to a close. Curfew was probably long past, though one such student who was still there neither knew nor cared. Though that was quite the common occurrence. The Hog's Head pub, while off the beaten path, also happened to be quiet tonight. Empty. Even the elderly bartender himself had disappeared for the moment.
One exception was the boy sitting sullenly at a shadowy back table. For some, the shadows were a source of danger to be avoided, and for others who were shadowy people, they were a source of comfort and disguise. For certain other others.. they were just a place one unconsciously gravitated towards and seemed to be eternally stuck in either way. Shendeth was here alone now of course, dark hair falling onto an equally dark cloak, hunched up against the draft. On the worn and dirty table in front of him was a half-consumed cup of something a fourteen year old was definitely not supposed to be drinking. In the distance the door opened and closed as somebody new walked into the pub, but he did not attempt to see who it was or even look up.

As a rule, Nyx did not like hogsmeade, it was rather dull and she would rather be somewhere else, where blood and sex where easy to come by and it wasn't so difficult to hide when needed.
Night had fallen and she had emerged from her hiding place in a cool, shadowed alley, and had made her way down the empty street. Her heels clicked loudly against the smooth, old stones of the street as she made her way to a famililar place. The Hogs Head was a grimy old place, but the bartender had allowed her to stay the day many years ago and she was hoping he would remember her. She needed to travel back to london but she had not drunk blood in a while and didn't want to make the journey on an empty stomach.
She pushed open the door to the pub and took a few steps inside. It was empty apart from one person not to far away in the shadows. She had become aware of him as soon as she had stepped in and heard his heart beat. She knew that the bartender was not here so decided to would be best to ask the boy. She headed over quickly, her flowing floor length black dress only just revealing the very high heels. Her arms were bare past her elbows and in the dim light her skin glowed even paler. She placed her hands on the boy's table and looked at him, her turquoise eyes glowing and her long, wild red hair framing her beautiful face. "Any chance you can tell me where the Bartender is?" She purred.

To his distaste the new pair of footsteps approached the area where he was sitting, but it was only when the hands dropped onto the table that Shendeth looked up at their owner. It was a stranger, a pale woman with red hair who had used a tone of voice that usually had the opposite affect than intended on him. While he could be described as paler than most, especially with the contrast of his dark hair, he still had a much healthier skin tone than his father and even more so in comparison to the woman. However, in this state he did not really notice it or think about what it meant.
Besides, if he was scared of anything or cared about avoiding creepy people, he wouldn't have come here in the first place.
"No, but he's around. Why don't you go wait for him?" Go wait for him somewhere else. Shendeth certainly didn't need the bartender's protection. She just didn't strike him as someone he would want to be alone with. He had been content to be alone with himself and wallow in his thoughts undisturbed.

The woman raised a delicate eyebrow at the boy, a child really...Well, she had slept with girls younger than him, not much younger but still.... Either way that was irrelevant. She could feel her wand, pressing against her curvy hips and begging to be used on his cocky little boy. In her closed mouth her tongue flicked against the sharp canines which were begging to sink into some flesh and to draw blood. She needed to drink soon and this boy's blood was making her tense. Her hands clenched into fists, her strength making the edge of the table crack and her nails dug into the soft wood. She licked her lips and her jaw tightened. When she spoke her voice was a hiss rather than the silky purr it had been before. "Yes, well unfortunatly he doesn't appear to be anywhere near here..." She wasn't lying, she couldn't smell him anywhere, this boy was the only living creature she could hear the blood of nearby.

All of a sudden he felt a desire to edge further down the table, away from her. Some people just didn't know when to bugger off, did they? Well, they would learn. In the meantime, he just had to not care. Shendeth would neither be scared by anyone nor underestimated. The hidden fury that burned in him set up and would lead to excess when it was finally let out and he proved himself right in the worst of ways. So instead of acting on that first instinctive desire, he simply raised an eyebrow at the woman, as if he had not noticed her hiss or threatening demeanor.
"Suit yourself. It doesn't matter to me."
With that he shrugged a little, then turned his head back away from her to take another sip of his drink. Shen was no fool, nor naive for his age, and he kept a solid watch on her out of the corner of his eye, ready to do whatever actions might suddenly come up as necessary. Really, even now he was far from harmless himself. He just was not one to provoke fights, and would give her little to fuel her own malevolence. Except for being characteristically incredibly frustrating.

Her eyes were fixated on his pulse at his neck, the smooth pale skin there that she knew was light coloured for a human but was positivly tanned next to her bloodless, whiter than white skin. Her lips parted and her pointed teeth were very visible as her tongue flicked over them, her mind distracted by the scent of blood and the constant pulsing of his neck. Of course he was a male which meant she wouldn't have any fun with him, but the blood would still be fantastic. The smell of the blood reminded her of someone, she had probably bitten one of his relatives at some point, but at the moment she was too fascinated by his heartbeat to care who it was. "You have beautiful blood, you know that?" Her voice had sunk to a rough, animal pitch as she bared her teeth, bright eyes glittering with hunger. Her fingers had dug deep into the wood of the table, her strength meaning even the firm wood was starting to buckle under the pressure.

Okay, about time to drop the act. It could be all empty threats but.. never underestimate your enemy. Shendeth glanced back up at this a-little-too-creepy woman soon enough to finally see her lick her... were those really vampire fangs? Cool. No, wait. Shit. His heart began to beat a little faster as he stopped denying the danger. But, uh, nothing he couldn't handle as long as he didn't panic. Fortunately, for the moment he didn't appear to. The vampire would block the space on either side of the front of the table; the building wall was very solid at the other end.
"Yeah, but only when it's inside, I think." Shen gave a nervous laugh.
Then in a sudden movement that would look very fast and agile to a human observer at least, he sprang backwards out of his chair, drawing his wand at the same time. The next second he was crouched on top of the next table, firmly gripping the wand that was pointed straight at her. He growled at her in an equally low and threatening voice, blood that she wanted pulsing faster behind narrowed eyes.
"If you try to touch me, I'll kill you."
