Being with Hermione was, without a doubt, a most calming experience in contrast with all of the chaos and tomfoolery that goes on in Harry's life and against the goings-on with his other companions, let alone the new experiences of this last year that had shaken the young man up so badly... It was growing harder to bear keeping his feelings of guilt and grief all to himself, so he thought: 'Hell, why not try and clear my head? Just, you know, not work for a day at the shop? I don't think anybody'd really mind... Yeah, it's fine. Just fine.'
So now, here Harry was: waiting for one of his closest of friends at the regular haunt of most Hogwarts students, though he couldn't help but feel he should not have suggested this place. Hermione was more of the academically collected student who, given the chance, would hole up in the common room or library to study. And that was a difference compared to Potter's constant dodging of homework and more playing quidditch. Yet, their friendship always came through as he could crack a smile and laugh from her, and she can relax him when he's having a temper.
Harry felt the tingle of apprehension as he sat at one of the booths, having to wave off Madam Rosmerta's glances every few minutes. The woman always crooned him about finding a girl in his life which, though it was flattering, could put him on edge just a smidge and, if he may say so himself, made him a bit conscious about such matters on the inside. Funny how people would tell him such things and, instead of taking it gracefully, he was more of the pouter. Maybe a woman would do him good, but he wasn't looking much for one since they all seemed to be out of reach for him in the relationships department. Just his luck, right? Ah, well.

YOU CAN FEEL THE POUNDING WRAPPED AROUND YOUR CHESTWECAN'TGOBACK NOTHING'S TOO EXCESSIVE WHEN YOU'VE GOT NOTHING LEFT Even Hermione had to admit that it had been awhile since she'd last left the castle. She had spent the majority of her time either holed up in the library or the Gryffindor Common Room, hoping to futher enhance her knowledge, even on subjects she wasn't studying yet. The days had molded into weeks, making it seem like it had only been a short period, that was, until Harry got in touch with her, claiming they hadn't hung out in awhile. She supposed they had both just been busy, Harry not having had the greatest of years what with all that went on with his brother and Hermione getting swamped by school work and the like. She worried for the raven haired wizard, knowing how deeply he cared for his brother and Hermione wished there was a way she could help. Unfortunately, Harry could be a stubborn git at times and she knew he wanted anything but to talk about it, he'd rather just ignore it in the hopes that maybe he'll forget about it. She knew it was all he thought about, however, and though they were close, she didn't want to pry on unwelcome grounds.
A sigh emitted from her lips as she grabbed her coat and proceeded to make her way out of the Gryffindor Common Room to meet Harry. She adjusted her red bag more firmly against her shoulder, letting her feet lead her through the various corridors. It wasn't too active in the castle right now so she could only assume a lot of them were already in Hogsmeade, that or they were outside, either way, Hermione revelled in the silence that castle brought. It was rare for there to be absolute silence in Hogwarts so when the moments came, she tried to absorb them as much as possible for fear that they would never come again. Pushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear, she rounded the corner to find that she had finally made it to the Entrance Hall. A grin encompassed her features as she pushed against the giant oak doors, the breeze lifting her spirits while it played against her skin. It was beautiful outside and she was glad Harry had convinced her to come out to meet him. She assumed he had taken the day off work for this was normally one of his work days but she knew it had been rather hard on him recently and everyone needed a day off sometimes.
Her light footsteps hardly made a sound as she neared Hogsmeade, never getting tired of the sights it provided. Hogsmeade had always been a beautiful place, especially during the winter, and she could understand why Harry had taken that job back in third year. There was a relaxing atmosphere hanging in the air, one that didn't seem so prominant in Hogwarts what with all the darkness lurking in the shadows. How she wished she could bottle it up and keep it for eternity. She shook her head in amusement at her thoughts before realizing that she was standing before the Three Broomsticks. Despite her studious nature, Hermione actually liked the Three Broomsticks, though she had to admit she liked it a whole lot more when there weren't so many students around. The bell on the door clanked against the wooden frame as she pushed against the door, warmth seeming to envelop her almost as soon as she walked in. Chesnut hues searched their surroundings before finding a familiar face sitting in a booth, Madam Rosmerta close behind. A bemused expression crossed her features as she walked to his table, piling into the seat across from him almost immediately. "Hey, Harry. Sorry I'm late," She breathlessly replied, placing her bag beside her on the seat before her eyes met his own emerald green. "I lost track of time reading, not that that's a surprise," She joked, rolling her eyes at her own behaviour. "So, how've you been? It feels like it's been ages since I last saw you," She didn't let show any of the worry she was feeling for him, knowing that would only make him retreat further away. He had never been good with people feeling sorry for him and Hermione was the last person that wanted to make him feel that way, especially since she hardly felt emotions as it was, her eyes remaining on him as she awaited a response.
