Keres is renowned around the Auror department for her aggression. She is not scared to resort to violence and will bring down Death Eaters in any way she can. Her hatred for them has never ceased or wavered and since it is fueled by the death of her uncle, she is even more dangerous. Keres is impulsive, reckless and quick to argue back, things which have gotten her into trouble with many people in her department. Never-the-less she gets her job done well and never shies away from a case. She is fairly intelligent, but tends to rely on her instincts rather than orders. She is stubborn and a tough woman who can take a lot.

She is also considered rude and arrogant, but when you really get to know her there is a softer side to her. She is very loyal, protecting those she cares about with her life. She is hard working and determined to succeed. She has a quick temper and a wry sense of humor.

Lilith Devyle - Lilith was a seer. Keres has a fairly good relationship with her. However she is scared of when her mother goes into her trances as she can become depressed for months afterward. Overall they get on well.

Carl Devyle - Keres has a much stronger relationship with her father. He was the one who looked after her when her mother couldn't and raised her to look out for herself and be independent.

Uncle - Henry Devyle - Her uncle never married and having no family of his own, chose to devote all of his love to his niece. He came round to play with her all the time and taught her some of her first spells. Keres adored him. His death in her 6th year at Hogwarts destroyed her and was the turning point in her life when she decided to become an Auror.

There is a lot to say about Keres. Let's start with the name, because it is no ordinary name. Some would say that it goes as far as to show the girl's true personality. Indeed her mother was a seer, though never as powerful as others. Her mother used to go into trance like states where she would rave and shout. She was never violent or dangerous, but if what she saw was not pleasant she could go into a depression that could last a few months. This, along with one other connected event, would case Keres to fear her mother's trances.
However, back onto her name.
Not long after Keres was born and was still unnamed, her mother fell into a trance like state. When she emerged she seemed calm and at peace. She told Keres's father that she must be names Keres Enyo Devyle. She said that it was who her daughter was. Her father liked the name and was glad to see mother and daughter well so readily agreed.
It was only later, when Keres's personality was starting to show that he looked up the names.
He knew of course that the family name Devyle came from the old English word for Devil.
What he found out though, was that Enyo was the Greek goddess of destructive war and that her name came from the Keres who were female death spirits in Greek Mythology.
He never challenged it, indeed the war references did seem appropriate for such a loud, ferocious child.

She went to Hogwarts aged 11 and was sorted into the noble house of Hufflepuff. It was not long before the school began to think she had been sorted into the wrong house. Her forth-right, angry, attitude was far from the normal stereotype of her house. However over the years she did show many of her houses traits, such as hard work and loyalty to the last.

In her 6th year she was told of her uncle's death. She had been close to him and it broke her heart. When she learned that Voldemort and his followers were the cause of her beloved uncle's death, she became outraged. It began her quest to become an Auror and fight dark wizards. Some say it added fuel to fire as far as her aggression was concerned.

She left Hogwarts and pursued her desired career with the same amount of dedication which had given her the grades she needed to join.

This year she was stationed at Hogwarts permanently to make sure that the Triwizards Tournament went smoothly and to ensure there were no problems between the rival schools.
