Scarlett was vastly outnumbered and her chances of winning this battle were slim to say the least. Nevertheless she kept up the stream of hexes and curses, dodging and weaving away from the spells that were shot back. She fucking hated Lisa Remer. Stupid blonde bitch. The dumb cow couldn't even fight her battles fairly, instead she had to gather another four bitches to take on the one red head. Admittedly Scarlett had taken her boyfriend on in a one on one battle and come out with only a few cuts, meanwhile her boyfriend had been in the hospital wing for two days. Still... She paid the price for allowing her mind to wander as one of the other Slytherin girls shot a green hex that caught her top and ripped it down the front. Frankly Scarlett was thankful the spell hadn't cut her in two. "Flipendo!" The spell hit the girl and she flew backward into a wall. Unfortunately her angry jinx had allowed the brunette Ravenclaw to her left to get a good shot at her and suddenly a stabbing pain ran up her leg, making her stumble.
She didn't give up though. Because Scarlett did not like being weak.

It was only natural curiosity to want to see what was going on when the sounds of a vicious disturbance echoed down the long corridors. A duel, eh? Shendeth rounded the corner and sensed danger immediately; he ducked just in time to avoid getting hit by a missed curse that instead struck the wall just above where his head had been and sent chips of stone crumbling to the floor. Agile and ready he crept closer, occasionally stopping to let more curses fly past, dark eyes taking in the scene.
Five girls all had their backs to him, and in clearer view, who was taking them all on alone.. Scarlett Rosen. And by the looks of things she couldn't hold out much longer. My, and they said he got up to things. Scarlett's enemies, whoever wonderful people they were, hadn't seen him but he didn't join in. Much as he would love to it looked like they were taking care of the fifth year on their own; six against one wasn't much fun under random circumstances like this. A little challenge was always welcome. He wanted the chance to beat up Scarlett on his own but alas, they were there first and that made her their prey.
Of course he could always jump in on her side. But psht, what for? The girls were doing a fine job and he didn't need to ruin it. Shendeth leaned against the wall where Scarlett could see him if she looked. Taking out his wand he twirled it between his fingers, making no move to join in the fight on either side. He smirked at her. She really wasn't looking so great, even though she was still desperately fighting. If he wanted he could strike them all out from behind before they knew what hit them. But watching it all play out was better. This was too good.

For a moment she didn't see him. She was too busy twisting and twirling out of harm's way. Her red hair flew out behind her as she ducked away from hexes that were thrown her way. She knew they were trying to get revenge on her for beating up Lisa's boyfriend, but she did think some of the might have lost it as a burst of fire caught her bare leg and she winced, knowing it would be burned. In fact she was so preoccupied by defense that it wasn't until a curse ripped her shirt again and revealed her stomach, that she looked up and saw him. Stupid bastard just standing there, watching. While she didn't want help, not from him anyway, it was taking the piss to just stand there and watch. "Bitch! I liked that top!" And with that she shot a bright purple hex at the girl, it hit her like a brick wall and she crumpled. By now the girl she had knocked out earlier had got to her feet and rejoined the battle. Scarlett just had time to shoot Shendeth a vicious glare before a curse flew at her. She pulled a shielding charm up, but it was too late. The curse hit her and she fell to the ground with a painful thud. She dragged herself back to her feet, but her strength was depleted and the pain in her leg was only getting worse. She glanced down, feeling something hot and sticky on her arms, only to see a haze of bright red blood. Her scars had ripped open again.
NOT FINISHED

At the sight of the glare sent at him he couldn't help a few silent giggles. Looks like he had distracted her. But she was bleeding now. That wasn't good, but hey it was her own fault. It was easy to see where the blood was coming from and guess how those cuts had got there, so many like that wasn't natural. Shendeth flung his wand up a little to catch and safely grip in his hand, ready to join in when need be. He doubted Scarlett was going to be able to hold out much longer regardless of all her fire. However he didn't move yet, not just this second. So he wouldn't watch her die. But he would watch and let her bleed until the last possible moment. She was his enemy after all, and enemies needed to suffer.

She gritted her teeth until her jaw began to ache. The pain was really getting to her and her weakness was making it a lot harder to dodge the curses they were throwing at her. She kept trying however, knowing that if she stopped they would descend upon her like a pack of hungry wolves. She licked her lips and shot another hex back, ducking to avoid a disarming spell that came her way. She shuddered and blinked a few times, trying to clear her head of the fog that was taking over. Her breathing was fast and hard and she could taste the metallic tang of blood in her mouth as she coughed. her vision was starting to go, she was loosing blood fairly fast now and her already tired body was finding it difficult to cope. She was shielding mostly now, her curses were getting weaker and she knew that her Shields would break soon. She looked up at the blurred image of Shendeth and managed to mouth the words. "I fucking hate you."

Well, that was no way to get someone to help you. He half turned to walk away but then stopped. The girls Scarlett was fighting looked to angry to notice or give up until it was too late, but this was more serious than their petty fights. So apparently it was. Moving a little closer so as not to miss and taking aim at what seemed to be their leader.. "Stupefy!" a bright red stunning spell hit her squarely in the back and she fell, unconscious until someone used the counter-spell to revive her.
"Stupefy! Stupefy!" moving fast he hit the two more on either side of her as they looked around and then he was battling the fourth. Beginning fourth years weren't supposed to be able to do the Stunning Spell quite yet but he had learned it on his own. Hexes flew between them and he trusted Scarlett to deal with the last one before she collapsed. But seeing the power of the spells from someone who wasn't tired from fighting all this time and the fact that it was now a fair fight the Ravenclaw girl he was now fighting started to back away as their one on one duel took them to the end of the corridor.
"You're just lucky your boyfriend was here to save you!" she jeered at Scarlett with a look that promised they'd get her another time, and then she was gone before either of them could shout a correction. Coward. Shendeth let her go, making a face at the thought. Turning back he looked to see what had become of Scarlett.

She shot a final hex which hit the wall and rebounded. She gave the girl a final glare as she left. She knew that she would be back to get her revenge, but at this point Scarlett didn't care. She looked at Shendeth, hatred marring her features as she glared at him. "I don't need your help..." She coughed sharply tasting blood again. She sank to her knees as her legs gave way and raised a hand to dab at the blood that was pouring from her wounds. The leg that had been hit by the spell had turned a sharp, icy blue which worried her a bit. She had to accept she would have lost the fight without him, but now those girls thought she accepted help from anyone. "You made me look weak! SO congratulations, you've signed my death warrant. Best day of your fucking life isn't it." She snarled the words at him, jaw still tight as she struggled not to show the pain of her injuries.

Shendeth grinned down at her, but it was halfhearted; he was trying not to be sickened by the sight of all that blood. If only she would quit being so stubborn he would act nicer and help her to the hospital wing. But she didn't, so he continued to put up a face of haughty loathing rather than concern. "You're welcome." he said with a touch of sarcasm, walking in a circle around where she had sank to the floor. "But you are weak, aren't you? You can say you don't need my help.. but it sure looks like you do."

She watched him move, her face full of anger. She really hated that boy sometimes. She picked her wand from the pool of blood it had fallen into and pointed it at the open scars. They began to knit together as she cast a spell. It was crude at best but it would hold until she could get to her dorm and the potions she had from the other girls in her mattress. She tried to stand but collapsed again, her now completely blue leg useless and very painful. She stared at the ground for a moment, knowing that she would regret what she was about to do for the rest of her life. "Do you know what this is? If I can heal this then I can walk away with the scraps of dignity you have had the heart to leave for me." She spat.

Shendeth stood and watched her as she attempted to heal her cuts. That was a flaw of his right there. He knew nothing of healing spells; they were one subject he had never thought to try to learn. He watched her try to stand and collapse again without moving. "Dignity? You?" He made a disbelieving noise. Was that an accept and request for help? Shendeth leaned down a little to look it over seriously. The leg was bad, all nasty and blue, but because of a curse. "That is a leg you can't walk away on." he answered the question of what it was. So that wasn't exactly what she meant, but he wasn't going to say anything else. And in all honesty he had no idea. He smirked a little, deciding to let her ask him to help her walk instead of offering. Shendeth wasn't going to just help her without completely torturing her pride first.

She looked up at him, hating him, everything about him irritated her. She shot him a sharp look as he spoke. "Thanks! I never would have guessed!" She glared, clenching her fists and closing her eyes in pain. She knew what he was waiting for, he wanted her to beg. What a bastard. The blue colour and the numbness was getting worse though, and spreading up her leg, reaching for her thighs. She might be a Slytherin, but she wasn't stupid like a Gryffindor. "I might be a Slytherin but I am not going to be stubborn enough to die out here. Help me...Please." The last word was hissed through gritted teeth. She knew she was going to regret asking for this. He would never let her live it down. Her deep breathes weren't to try and calm her racing heart, they were to stop her from trying to kill him.

If he had been any crueler he would have been the one in danger of dying- from laughing too hard. As it was he managed to remain looking down at her indifferently, if with a bit of a sneer, neither laughing nor in any way betraying the continued uncomfortableness eating away at whatever speck of a conscious he still had due to acting this way while she suffered. She had even said please the first time, if that low hiss could be called a word. And any doubt meant that it wasn't good enough. As of yet Shendeth could probably get her angrier still. The effects of her injuries were clearly getting worse but she didn't look like she was going to drop dead this very second, maybe in fifteen, twenty minutes or so if the curse kept spreading and was as bad as it looked. Which was time to drag it out a bit more.
"What's that? I can't hear you." A well-known thing to say but no less effective.

She closed her eyes in agony, the pain in her arms where the scars had torn open was worsening, or maybe it just felt that way as the rest of her body went dangerously numb. But it did give her a sick sense of relief, the kind of feeling she got when she cut. Except this time the relief was blurred with fear, because her fears were coming true, she was lying here at the mercy of a Slytherin who thought the world revolved around him and his little problems. She looked up at him in disgust, the familiar wave of depression flooding over her and choking her, drowning her. She chuckles darkly, her weary eyes focused on him. "Do you get off on this? Does it turn you on?" Her breath caught in her throat and she froze in pain, before adjusting and continuing. "Leave me here. Go on, walk away. Prove what a 'man' you are. Prove that you're not just talk...." She smirked. "Prove to me that you can do it, what you can be one of them...Show me you deserve that mark that you seem to so desperately strive for." She licked her dry lips and slumped backwards against a wall, rolling her neck back and closing her eyes.

He could see that she was at her end, giving one last stab before she ran out of energy completely. But that didn't change the fact that he didn't like what she said. "Pfft." he spat and sneered at her. Inside he knew he had gone far enough, too far even. The first step was always the hardest though, and he was on the very edge of walking away like she said. Like she said. That was the problem; in his hatred for her he was doing the exact opposite of what she said. And he had planned to help from the start. It was a tempting challenge, but one he could never follow through with.
"I don't have to prove anything to you. I'm not trying to be anyone." he hissed, walking back over to where she had collapsed against the wall. Like her opinion mattered, or her challenge was anything but stupid. Last time he checked there was more to those things than being cruel, that had nothing to do with it. Besides, if she died he wouldn't be able to piss her off anymore. Shendeth grabbed her arms and pulled her roughly to her feet, supporting her light weight just enough so that she wouldn't fall again. "I hate you." Really.

She gave a smirk, but it was weak, she simply did not have a strength to give a good reply back. Her throat hurt and her vision was slightly cloudy. She licked her lips softly and gave a small, pain filled chuckle as he heaved her to her feet. Part of her wanted him to leave her there, let her end it all. But a larger part of her brain was thanking merlin that he was not the monster she had suspected he would be. She didn't want to become her Grandmother, dying because things got to hard. Se didn't want to be weak, not like she had been. Scarlett would not hurt her family the way her Grandmother hurt her, her sister was too young and to wonderful to have to cope with that, then turn into Scarlett and then die... She didn't want to be part of that vicious cycle. She looked up at the boy from where she was slumped against him. "If I died, right here, right now...what would you do...Honestly?
