A quirky girl, Eloise has a wide range of curious and ostentatious outfits for when she’s not wearing school robes and some flamboyant wigs to go with them, as she hasn’t yet mastered the ability to change her hair colour and style with magic. Fast speaking, especially when upset, Eloise is a never ending source of witty remarks and pop-culture references. As a muggle born, Eloise sometimes feels at ends with the wizarding world and feels the need to prove herself. Because of this, she studies hard, but she makes sure not to be too serious about it.

OVERALL:[/color]
Eloise and her twin sister Ruth were born to two muggles named Charles and Lorelai Shane. Colourful and scholarly, they were wonderful parents and happily married. All was well for nine years until one fateful night when a car accident took the lives of Charles and Lorelai, leaving the Shane twins orphans. The girls unwilling to separate from each other, it was hard to place them in foster families, especially with the “stranger occurrences” that happened around Eloise when she was upset or afraid.
Then when Eloise turned elven, a woman came to the house of Christopher and Samantha Danes to talk to Eloise. She said she was a professor at a school called special Hogwarts to which Eloise had been accepted. Confused, as she hadn’t applied to any schools and this woman wasn’t carrying a large needle and butterfly net. The woman explained everything to her. Eloise was exciting, until the women informed her that Ruth wouldn’t be able to attend Hogwarts, for only Eloise was a witch. Ruth responded to the news better, telling Eloise she had to go and it was the best thing for her. The Danes remain unaware of what Hogwarts really is, thinking it’s a private school that Eloise was rewarded a scholarship to.
Eloise is returning to Hogwarts for her fourth year and loves it, though misses Ruth often. They write each other a lot.

Eloise stepped off of platform 9 ¼ and into Kings Cross Station. With a rose pinned to her blouse, Eloise searched the crowed. “Ruth,” she called, glancing around. “Ruth. Ruthie.”
“Over here!” A voice called. Eloise turned and came face to face with a haggard old man.
“Oh,” Eloise cried. “Oh, Ruthie, what happened to you? How will you ever find a man now?”
“Ellie,” Ruth said, managing to sound exacerbated and amused at the same time as she grabbed Eloise’s arm, apologized to the older man, and dragged her away. Once they were out of the crowd, Ruth pulled her into a huge hug.
“I missed you too, sis,” Eloise said, giving Ruth a final squeeze before letting her go. She grinned. “You wore a rose!”
“I figured it would be the only way you’d recognize me,” Ruth replied, picking up one of Eloise’s bags. “Besides, I said I would.”
“Well, yeah, but you also said you’d dress wacky and you look pretty normal to me,” Eloise said, giving her twin a quick once over.
For fraternal twins, she and Ruth did still look rather identical; the same lustrous dark hair, the same big blue eyes, the same alabaster skin. But at the moment, with Ruth wore a white summer dress when a navy blue cardigan and Eloise dressed in tight black jeans, a tattered black blouse gathered at the waist with a length of ordinary steel chained used as a belt, and a purple bob cut wig, the sisters couldn’t look any more different.
“One of us has to look normal,” Ruth replied with a smirk. “Come on, Ellie. Chris is waiting for us in the car.”
