Throughout his childhood Liam was tormented by the words of his parents. He grew up insecure with himself and his surroundings. He felt as if he had no one to turn too. For years he kept to himself; doing his best to stay out of his parents way. Not matter what he did he was never good enough for them. He was a disgrace to the Blackwood name for not believing that muggle-borns and half-bloods were below them. They (the Blackwood’s) were of pureblood. Purebloods were suppose to act a certain way, and Liam didn’t fit into those ideologies.

Between the ages of 8-12 he did his best to believe everything his parents told him. But it never seemed right in his mind. When he entered Hogwarts at age 11 he had finally found a place where he felt at home. He was placed in Ravenclaw where he met likeminded individuals who shared the same passion for learning. When he turned 12 he stopped caring what his parents thought. During the summer he did his best to ignore their jabs.

It wasn’t until he was 14 turning 15 that finally accepted the kind of person he was. He was no longer afraid to express how he felt, even to his parents. It caused a lot of problems at home, but school was another story. His sudden boost in confidence had attracted a fellow student. They hit it off fast enough and soon dove into an innocent relationship.

Liam was born to parents James and Ellen late in their life. From the start Liam didn't have a good relationship with them. For years he felt scared and alone within his own home. Though it never really did feel like home to him. For years he took the verbal abuse from both of his parents, but it wasn't without consequences. His insecurities grew and he became quite introverted.

The arrival of his Hogwarts letter was a relief to both parties. Liam would finally be free of his parents for most of the year, and his parents would be free of their free-minded son. Hogwarts was the best thing that happened to him. He was sorted into Ravenclaw where he met many friends from his own house as well as others. Near his 15th birthday he gained much self-confidence and finally was able to start accepting the person he was.

He met a wonderful girl named Grace (Gracie) who he fell madly for. She was always fun and outgoing. Their relationship started out innocently enough. For months it was just trips to Hogsmeade together; sharing a few Butterbeers over a grease heavy meal. For a while Liam wasn't sure how to be in a relationship. His parents where never exactly the ideal couple so he tried to do the opposite of what they did.

That perhaps wasn't the best route to take. It led to many awkward situations, but he was sure down the road that they would make interesting stories. But the longer they dated, the more Liam fell for her. He couldn't possibly see his life without her, but with the forthcoming war no one knew what the future holds for either of them.
